BIG things are happening at Lumpkin County Animal Services! 🐾🚧💛

Today was an exciting milestone as the very first loads of concrete were poured for the foundation of the NEW animal services facility! 🥹🐶🐱

Every little bit of progress means we are one step closer to a new facility for the animals in our community, and we could not be more excited to watch it all come together. Seeing that concrete truck out there made it feel a little more REAL! 👏🏼

A little more progress every day… and today was a BIG one! 🐾🏗️💛

We’ll keep bringing you along as our new shelter continues to take shape! ❤️

Goober has had his turn being the shelter goofball… now it’s time for him to be somebody’s goofball. 🥹❤️

He’s still waiting. Still watching people come and go. Still hoping that one of those people will finally be there for HIM.

Goober doesn’t need another share that ends with “I hope someone gets him.” He needs someone to walk through those doors, meet him, and give him the chance he’s been waiting for. 🏡🐾

Spring 2027, Mary Fox Waits is hosting her Garden Party and Plant Sale again! May 7th will be the party and May 8th & 9th will be time to come by and shop! All proceeds go to Friends of Lumpkin County Shelter Animals!

She is asking for large planting pots, 8in or more with holes, both hanging and regular! If you have some you’d like to donate or even purchase for this event, please contact Mary directly! Thank you in advance! There will be more info to come about this event as we get closer to the end of the year!

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today is all about DOGS, the goofy ones, the snuggly ones, the zoomie professionals, the treat thieves, and especially the ones still waiting for a family to call their own. ❤️

Our shelter is full of some pretty incredible pups, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate National Dog Day than by showing them a little extra love.
