Mississippi Coalition for Animal Protection We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Charity. We also work with many other rescue partners both inside and outside of South Mississippi. We are ALL VOLUNTEERS!!!

We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome (when needed) animals in crisis, by balancing animal comfort and public safety by supporting local Law Enforcement, Red Cross and Non-Violence Center. MCAP was created to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome animals in crisis (including housing pets experiencing domestic violence), ensure healthy pets through education, advocacy and affordable services (including TNR)

, inspire the community where the animal-human bond is celebrated and nurtured, maximizing live outcomes for animals, while balancing animal comfort and public safety by supporting local law enforcement & animal control officers in South Mississippi as well as assisting Emergency Operations Centers & the American Red Cross during natural disasters. We could not do any of this without our

All Rescuers wish, the PUBLIC would understand......

1. We all recieve endless calls & messages daily from the public asking for help.

2. We are ALL LIMITED on space & funds.

We function SOLEY off donations. We DO NOT recieve public funds (tax dollars) like the Shelters here in South Mississippi do.

You may see, its only 1 cat or kitten or puppy, but to us thats 1 more than what's already in care.

3. Its not a case of we don't want to help you, but simply when we are full, we are full.

4. Getting ANGRY & making snarky comments & or Cussing us out, does you no good, nor does it help the animals.

Both Loveable Cuddly babies!!!

Alexander is vocal where, Journey is the silent type.

Both love to sleep with their people in bed, or on FUZZY beds, & blankets!!

These 2 amazing babies are 1000000x appreciative of having INDOOR lives now.

They spent the first part of their lives, outside of a medical clinic, dodging bad weather & cars,as well as hiding from stray dogs.

He was abandoned at a local vet clinic after his heartworm status was discovered.

Please help us find him an amazing home & loveable family. Heartworm treatment will be covered as well as his neuter.

These 2 amazing sisters had a rough start to life. They were found by a river where someone had attempted to end their precious little lives as tiny puppies.

An amazing rescuer, Christina Marie Garriga here on the coast, took them in to care for them until they were healthy and ready for adoption.

Both were spayed, microchipped & adopted into loving homes. But both within 32 days of each other, made it back into rescue.

Bella's previous family returned her to rescue after the newness and puppy stage was over. It was discovered that that this was not the first time they have gotten puppies & returned them after theyre grown. (They are on our DNA list now).

Bentley's family had a family tragedy strike their home which was what landed Bentley back in rescue.

Both girls do great in an active home of their own. Neither girl likes cats due to their breed. (High prey drive)

Both are crate trained and would thrive with active families, large fenced yards or a job.

Introducing POOH BEAR!!!!

He is 3 years old. He unfortunately has spent his entire life in rescue. He is currently in a ms-cap.org foster home, but praying his forever family is out there.

Pooh Bear began his life as a small puppy rescued from a busy rural highway in Tennessee. He remained in the rescue in Union City because people were scared to take on a potentially large to extra large dog. Vets were unsure of his potential breed and as many small rescues are, the cost of DNA testing was not in their reach.

Pooh Bear came to MS-CAP after the Founder of the rescue in Tennessee passed away unexpectedly.

He is an amazing boy, although, he is a large boy at over 70lbs.

He loves select dogs. Some dogs dont like him. He chases cats because hes curious, but cats dont seem to love him.

Hes great with tiny humans & loves hiking trails, parks & playing on large yards. He LOVES toys & treats.
