Today is Eddy’s birthday. Although his birthday falls on such a difficult day, I want to take a moment to shine a little light on the man behind Eddy’s Dogs Rescue. ❤️🐾
Hi, everyone—it’s Jessika, Vice President of Eddy’s Dogs Rescue.
Many people see the dogs we save, but they may not always see the man working tirelessly behind the scenes. Eddy has dedicated so much of his life to helping animals that have been abandoned, neglected, forgotten, or left with nowhere else to go. But his kindness does not stop with animals. He has also helped members of the homeless community and countless people who simply needed someone to believe in them.
I was one of those people.
Eddy began helping me when I was just 18 years old. I had a huge heart for animals, but I felt completely alone in the rescue world. Eddy never turned his back on me. He helped me with dog food, introduced me to others in the rescue community, helped me build connections, and encouraged me to keep going.
I am now 34 years old, and I am still incredibly thankful for everything he has done for me. Sixteen years later, I am honored to stand beside him and help continue the mission that has saved so many lives.
For his birthday, I would love for our community to show Eddy the same kindness and support that he has given to so many others. Right now, Eddy’s Dogs Rescue desperately needs dog food and financial assistance. Without immediate support, keeping the rescue open and continuing to care for these animals is becoming nearly impossible.
