Over the last several weeks, we've shared information about the New World Screwworm and the potential risks it poses to livestock. Today, we'd like to shift the conversation from the threat itself to what producers are doing every day to protect their herds.

The reality is that good cattle management doesn't start when a problem arrives—it starts long before.

Across the cattle industry, ranchers are:
✔️ Monitoring livestock closely
✔️ Treating cuts, wounds, and injuries promptly
✔️ Working alongside veterinarians and animal health professionals
✔️ Staying informed on animal health updates and recommendations
✔️ Maintaining strong fly-control programs
✔️ Focusing on proper nutrition and mineral supplementation to support overall herd health

At Triple Son Farms, we are continuing to monitor our cattle closely, treat animals promptly when needed, and utilize medicated minerals and feed supplements that contain fly-control products as part of our overall herd health program.

Our goal is the same as it has always been: healthy cattle, responsible stewardship, and producing a safe, wholesome product for consumers.

While discussions surrounding New World Screwworm continue, preparation and vigilance remain some of the most effective tools producers have. Staying informed and taking proactive steps today helps protect our herds tomorrow.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." — Colossians 3:23

💬 Discussion Question: What management practice do you believe has the biggest impact on herd health and productivity?

Happy Father's Day from all of us at Triple Son Farms.

Today, we want to recognize and thank all the fathers who work tirelessly to provide for their families, care for the land, and help feed our nation.

Whether you're in the pasture before daylight, fixing fences after a long day, or teaching the next generation the values of faith, hard work, and responsibility, your impact reaches far beyond the ranch gate.

We are incredibly grateful for our employees, customers, and friends who have become part of the Triple Son Farms family. Your support, trust, and friendships are a blessing, and we appreciate each of you.

Fatherhood and ranching share many of the same principles—patience, perseverance, sacrifice, and stewardship. Today we celebrate the men who lead by example and leave a legacy that will continue for generations to come.

"The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him." — Proverbs 20:7

May God bless all fathers today and every day. From our family at Triple Son Farms to yours, Happy Father's Day!

🌧️ Hurricane Season: Lessons Learned From Hurricane Ida

As South Louisiana experienced heavy rain and tropical weather this past weekend, it serves as a reminder that hurricane season is here. For many of us, storms don't just bring wind and rain—they bring back memories of hurricanes that forever changed our communities, farms, ranches, and families.

For those of us in South Louisiana, Hurricane Ida wasn't just another storm. It was a powerful lesson in preparation, resilience, and faith.

Lessons Learned on the Ranch:

✔️ Don't wait until a storm is approaching to prepare. Have a plan in place before hurricane season begins.

✔️ Water can become just as big of a challenge as wind. Flooded pastures, damaged fences, and limited access to livestock can quickly become major concerns.

✔️ Keep feed, hay, minerals, fuel, and essential supplies stocked ahead of time. Supply chains can be disrupted for weeks after a major storm.

✔️ Maintain fences and gates year-round. Storms have a way of finding every weak spot.

✔️ Keep animal health products on hand. Stress from severe weather can weaken immune systems and create health challenges long after the storm has passed.

✔️ Have multiple ways to communicate. Cell service, internet, and power can disappear in an instant.

✔️ Document everything. Photos, records, and inventories can be invaluable when dealing with insurance claims and disaster assistance programs.

At Triple Son Farms, hurricane preparedness isn't something we think about when a storm enters the Gulf—it's something we work on throughout the year. We monitor weather conditions closely, maintain emergency supplies, keep equipment ready, and make every effort to ensure our cattle have access to safe pasture, clean water, and proper nutrition before and after severe weather events.

Most importantly, Ida reminded us that while storms may test us, they also reveal the strength of our communities. Neighbors helped neighbors. Ranchers helped ranchers. Families came together. And somehow, one day at a time, we rebuilt.

As we move through another hurricane season, let's all stay prepared, stay informed, and keep those impacted by storms in our prayers.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." — Psalm 46:1

What is the biggest lesson Hurricane Ida taught you?
