This video shows how we moved our 4ft caimans into their new habitat. It was so much fun 🐊

I honestly thought this day would never come.

Our pair of smooth-fronted caimans are finally about to move into their new habitat! Countless hours, hard work, and dedication went into bringing this project to life. From the very beginning, our goal has been simple: to provide the animals we love with the very best quality of life possible in captivity.

Over the past nine years, our little zoo has evolved into something truly extraordinary. Looking back, it’s incredible to see how much commitment, perseverance, and passion it has taken to reach this point.

Every milestone tells a story of sacrifice, determination, and a belief in something bigger than ourselves.

Nothing great was ever achieved without personal sacrifice. 🔥🐊

Meet the rainforest’s armored snack specialist: the Caiman Lizard 🦎💚

Native to the swamps and flooded forests of South America, this colorful reptile looks like a tiny dragon with:
✨ Bright green scales
✨ A fiery orange head
✨ Heavy armor-like skin
✨ A serious love for snails 🐌

Their powerful jaws are specially built to crush hard snail shells — kind of like nature’s nutcracker! Even cooler? They’re excellent swimmers and can stay underwater for surprisingly long periods while hunting.

Fun fact: Their rough scales resemble those of a caiman crocodile, which is exactly how they got their name.

Tiny dragon vibes. Professional snail cruncher. Rainforest royalty. 👑🌿

🦎🔥 Say hello to one of Africa’s most powerful reptiles — the Black-Throated Monitor! 🔥🦎

Built like a tank and packed with personality, these giant monitors are native to the savannas of Africa and can grow over 6 feet long! With their muscular bodies, forked tongues constantly exploring the world around them, and that iconic dark throat, they’re impossible to ignore. 🌍⚡

Black-throated monitors are incredibly intelligent reptiles known for their curiosity and problem-solving skills. Whether they’re climbing, digging, or investigating every inch of their environment, there’s never a dull moment with these giants around. 🪵🐾

Despite their intimidating size, they can become surprisingly interactive with proper care and trust — proving once again that reptiles are far more complex than most people realize. 💚

Who else is obsessed with giant monitors? 👀👇
