When we first started rescue, Sarah became one of our supporters. She helped us raise funds by selling shirts for our medical fund and getting the word out about our organization while she was working at Roanoke Island Animal Clinic. Chances are if you called down to the clinic and made a donation on our account you spoke with her. Sarah and Clay adopted a very special dog, Ruby, from us when we were just beginning to not stress out about taking on medical dogs, partly in thanks to Sarah! We would love to see the kindness, compassion, and love shared with Sarah and family, like she always showed us. If you cannot contribute, please share.. every little bit helps. Thank you💕

Penelope is still waiting for a family to call her own💕 She makes herself comfortable wherever she goes so we know she will not have trouble adjusting.🏡

Penelope is very smart, playful and willing to learn new things. 📚 She is all puppy and does occasionally need reminders as to what is appropriate to mouth on. Dr. Burkart saw her this week and estimated her to be 10-11 weeks old so we prefer that she goes into a home with another dog as we think that will help her continue to thrive. Penelope takes corrections well from both humans and dogs well. 🐾

💕Welcome, Penelope💕

Thanks to an amazing foster family, we were able to pull this adorable girl from our friends over at Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter today! She’s already won over her foster mom and dad, and we are sure it won’t take long to find her a permanent family.

Stay tuned for an updated post in the near future. For now, we know she like chewing on things, snuggling, and zoomies.💕

We received an unexpected phone call this week about Baby, a dog that was adopted from us in 2021. Her family stated that she had a mass, was coughing up blood and that it was time to say goodbye. Unfortunately, that last responsibility fell on us, as her family was unable to facilitate that. (We did offer to cover the euthanasia cost.)

Baby, I hope you remembered us and that we loved you prior to heading to the Rainbow Bridge. I know you’re bouncing around with the rest of the pack, pain free. See you on the other side sweet girl❤️🌈

Rex had his yearly exam this week. We are sharing for many reasons..

1. Rex is an extremely loving dog who deserves to be in a home, not the kennels for a whole year.💕

2. When dogs arrive with us, we are responsible for their care even if donations are not coming in. That means it comes out of our personal pockets, not the rescue.💵

3. We have attached our invoice from Roanoke Island Animal Clinic to share the balance that we have been working to pay down. If you are in a position to contribute to the vetting of our dogs, we greatly appreciate it🐾

4. We need your help sharing, liking, and commenting on our posts to help us give the dogs the exposure they need. 👍🏻❤️😊

🎉We are so excited to share Jessa’s adoption post🎉

Jessa was lucky enough to be fostered by a very kind family who took a photo that happened to grab her new mamas attention and the rest is history❤️ Fostering is so rewarding to the humans and incredibly beneficial to the dogs waiting for their chance to be chosen by an adopter!

Thank you to Tanya and Don for giving our girl her happily ever after🐾
