Stepping Stone Animal Society’s dedication to animals is reflected in our motto, “Every animal. Every chance. Every day”. Here is what we believe:

OUR VISION:

To elevate the quality of life of companion animals. OUR MISSION:

To provide resources such as low-cost spay neuter options, vaccine services, education, and rescue to support retention of owned companion animals and provide homes for homeless companion animals. OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES:

These ideas inform the decisions we make and the way we interact with those around us.

* Life-saving: There is intrinsic value in each animal’s life.
* Integrity: We do what we say when we say we’re going to do it and we honor what we say.
* Respect: For animals, staff, volunteers, and community members.
* Transparency: Be open and honest in disclosure of operations.
* Respectability: We hold ourselves to a high standard in operations and execution. These principles lead us to embrace our community in various ways, including:

* Cultivate relationships with like-minded individuals and organizations.

* Enrich animals’ lives.

* Educate the community to improve their understanding of and relationships with companion animals.

* Be an active member of our community to support its members and civic organizations. You can find more information about our board of directors and staff here. We’re always looking for like-minded people interested in helping our cause. If these principles reflect your values as well, email us at [email protected] or call us at (240) 362-7547.

Stepping Stone Spay Neuter Clinic is looking for volunteers to help with our mission of providing low-cost spay and neuter surgeries in our community. Specifically, we are looking for individuals comfortable with taking and making phone calls, using a computer, and helping with intake and discharge. Volunteers work in 2-3 hour shifts that can vary with your interest and availability. Working from home is also possible. If interested, private message Stepping Stone Animal Society via Facebook with your phone number and we will be in touch. Thank you!

If you want to start right off, we are sponsoring a rabies/microchip drive-up clinic this Sunday, October 30th from 10am-1pm. Extra hands are always welcome and it's a great way to meet other volunteers.

Our clinic operates with a waitlist for appointments, and those wait times vary depending upon your animals’ gender and size. We have temporarily stopped adding cat spays to our wait list as the wait was becoming too long. If your cat is already on our waitlist, their surgery will be scheduled as we reach their name.If you have questions, would like to be added to the waitlist for another service, or are already on a waitlist - please message us with your name and a short message regarding your need.

For the first time in several years, we’ve found it necessary to raise our prices. While cat neuters remain $50, other surgeries have increased by $10 each. The cost of a microchip or a rabies vaccine in the clinic without surgery is now $25.
