Spring Gap Farm - AK Equine Spring Gap Farm offers private and group riding lessons, summer day camps and guided rides. We welcome riders of all ages and abilities!

Spring Gap Farm (AK Equine) offers a secure and enjoyable environment where clients can learn horse riding and appreciate the sport. We provide a range of programs for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Our beginner programs are designed to be fun and engaging with horses. As clients progress, we gradually introduce the technical aspects of riding, allowing everyone to advance at a comfortable pace. SGF participates in local horse shows, hunter paces, fox hunts, and many other exciting events. Located in Cumberland, Maryland, Spring Gap Farm invites you to join in the fun today! All services are available strictly by appointment, and instructional guided rides necessitate a 48-hour advance notice. We appreciate your cooperation.

Ears forward: Often attentive or interested.
Ears turned sideways: May be relaxed or listening.
Ears pinned tightly back: Can signal discomfort, irritation, or a warning.

Always look at the whole horse and the situation, not just the ears!

Spring Gap Farm is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced equestrian to join our team! 💚

Do you have a passion for horses and enjoy helping beginner riders build confidence in the saddle? We want to hear from you!

What we’re looking for:
🐎 Strong horsemanship skills and riding experience

🐎 Patience and enthusiasm when working with children and beginner riders

🐎 Ability to teach basic riding fundamentals, proper position, balance, and horse safety

🐎 A positive attitude and commitment to creating a safe, fun learning environment

🐎 Dependability, professionalism, and good communication skills

At Spring Gap Farm, we believe every great rider starts with a strong foundation. We’re looking for someone who can make learning to ride an enjoyable, confidence-building experience!

Did you know?

Horses can sleep standing up thanks to a special system of tendons and ligaments called the stay apparatus!

However, they still need to lie down to get adequate REM sleep. 😴

So next time you see one of our horses stretched out in the field, don’t worry, they may just be catching some much needed beauty sleep!
