Regarding the recent announcement of a medication recall from Wedgewood Pharmacy.
Wedgewood pharmacy is recalling certain compounded medications that were sold between February and October 6th of this year. Our understanding is that the concentrations of the affected medications could be either too high or too low, resulting in either ineffective therapy, or potentially toxicity or overdose. The medications affected span oral, transdermal and ophthalmic medications. Wedgewood is asking any family that has obtained their compounded medication from their pharmacy to check the link below, to see if their pets’ medications are affected, but also to hold on any medication you may have ordered from them until you can be certain that medication is not affected.
Wedgewood will be sending out emails and mailing notifications to pet families that are affected, but you can also try to call them at 866-562-5931 between 8 am and 9 pm Monday through Sunday.
