Please take extra precautions to keep your animals safe during this dangerous heat this coming week:

โ€ข Bring pets indoors whenever possible
โ€ข Provide constant access to fresh, cool water
โ€ข Limit walks and outdoor activity to early morning or late evening
โ€ข Check pavement before walking, if itโ€™s too hot for your hand, itโ€™s too hot for their paws!
โ€ข Never leave an animal inside a parked vehicle
โ€ข Make sure outdoor pets, livestock, and poultry have plenty of shade and ventilation

Watch for excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, confusion, or collapse. These may be signs of heatstroke and require immediate veterinary care.
