Grindelwald joined the others at the Rainbow Bridge today. He lived for a decade as a complete feral under my mom's house, coming out to get stinky food from her, sleeping on her swing, but never letting her get closer than three feet. He's been living his BEST LIFE for over 3 years now, eating well, sleeping hard, warm, safe, and dry, and finally learning how to play. I still couldn't pet him, but he would lick churu from my palm and he knew he was loved. The past few days, I was able to sit next to him on his swing and give him pets and skritchies. He would never say that he liked it, but when no one was looking, I could see him flexing and fluffing with his little hands.
