All animals are given age appropriate vaccinations and wormer and are lovingly cared for while they wait for their permanent homes. Please consider adopting a shelter pet and remember to make sure that your pet has ID at all times, such as a collar with name and phone number, rabies tag, and micro-chipping. Our ultimate goal would be to keep an empty shelter and for everyone to know the joy of having a loving pet in their lives!

Forrest, a bluetick hound mix, arrived at the shelter just over two weeks ago, emaciated and covered in open sores. After a brief stay, he’s made a remarkable recovery, now weighing 40 pounds and regaining his health. He’s up to date on his rabies and distemper shots and is eager for a fresh start.

At around one year old, Forrest is brimming with energy and loves to run and explore every nook and cranny of the shelter. If you’d like to get to know him better, please don’t hesitate to contact the shelter.

This post addresses the current situation that many are undoubtedly aware of.

We’ve received numerous calls, messages, and comments regarding the brown and white dogs running through town, and we genuinely understand your concerns and frustration about this issue.

We’re actively working to bring them into our care, but it’s a challenging task because we must prioritize the safety of both the dogs and our staff members.

Since April this year, we’ve been facing staffing issues and are hopeful that we’ll soon be able to resume full operation hours. We kindly request your patience as we navigate these difficult circumstances, as we currently only have two staff members.

Regarding the dogs, we’re currently collaborating with trappers and some amazing individuals within our community to try and centralize them into one area so that a trap can be set. We kindly request that if you’ve been feeding them, please stop as it will hinder our efforts to keep them in one area for the trappers.

We understand the desire to help an animal in need, but for this plan to work, we need them to rely on a single food source. We’ve already identified the area they like to roam most, and now we need to start closing the circle.

We appreciate everyone who has called and messaged us about them, as your information has helped us understand the areas they frequent the most. We are hopeful to get them into safety soon, thank you.
