Watching Kodak start to settle, think clearer, and relax into the process has been awesome to see.

A lot of dogs aren’t trying to be “bad” dogs, they’re overwhelmed, overstimulated, or simply lacking direction and communication. As training progresses, you start seeing the stress come down and the confidence come up.

Congratulations to Doug on completing his 3 Week Board & Train with Ridgeside K9 DFW!

When Doug first came to us, walks could be stressful and overwhelming. His owners often had to maintain a very tight hold on the leash due to his reactivity and difficulty staying calm and focused around distractions.

Over the past three weeks, Doug has made dramatic improvements in his obedience, engagement, and overall reliability. He’s learning how to stay calmer, make better decisions, and move through the world with much more focus and clarity.

Today, we remember our friends.Our fellow service members. The Marines I knew personally, the service members I served beside, and even those I never had the honor to meet.

Today is about remembering what they gave for this country.

And we also remember the families they left behind, their children, brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, husbands, wives, and loved ones who continue carrying their memory every single day.

Meet Zoey, the young Belgian Malinois putting in the work during part one of our Puppy All-Inclusive program.

Over the past few weeks, Zoey has been establishing a strong foundation by focusing on structure, engagement, confidence-building, and understanding clear boundaries. Like many young dogs, she initially found navigating the world overwhelming, which sometimes led to unwanted behaviors stemming from her perception of her environment. However, through training, she has now gained a better understanding of her role as a valued member of the family.

This is only the beginning of her journey, and we’re excited to watch her continue to grow. We can’t wait to welcome Zoey back for part two as we continue helping her develop into a reliable, well-rounded adult dog that can thrive both at home and out in the real world.

Zigzags are a simple but powerful way to improve engagement on walks.
Every change of direction encourages the dog to pay attention instead of getting locked into the environment.

A couple quick tips:
• Don’t become predictable with your movement
• Reward the dog for choosing you voluntarily
• Start in lower distraction environments before expecting success in busy places

The little reps matter more than people think.

Zueri is home.

This rambunctious Doberman came to us eager to please, but she didn’t fully understand boundaries, structure, or clear communication yet.
