🔪If you’re gonna cape one, please know how! I know we’ve heard it all as a taxidermist.

Most of the time that proves to be incorrect. While these aren’t my personal experiences in the photos below. Modern forms in the taxidermy industry really show ALOT of shoulder. Some even more legs. It’s better to have too much and let your taxidermist remove what he or she doesn’t need, than to need it and not have it. As you can see a stellar cape starts with you. I’ve personally never seen it happen from local slaughter houses, they get plenty of practice. However when we see the “I done it myself” guy, thats when we start seeing issues. I’ve turned them certain ways before to hide a short cut cape. With a summer velvet cape they aren’t going to be easy to find. Most the time if someone harvests a velvet buck it’s something they personally are going to mount so they aren’t extras laying around.

🚥Started this journey 8 months ago…

🫶🏻We are well on our way to 1,000 followers. Thank you to everyone who has liked, shared and supported us this far!

🦌This season hasn’t even started and deer are already coming in! We are currently logging deer now from last season! Need to make freezer space for the upcoming season? We have room in ours! 🥶

🦌As we creep closer toward the fall, here is the updated price list. I will be taking a certain amount of shoulder mounts this year. I will make a post when we are full at that time. May possibly open back up as production continues. I’m not gonna let quantity overtake quality and decent return time. I’ve always told everyone 12-18 month turn around simply because I have a full time job and I’m a full time, Husband and Father. I’d rather call you early than lie to you, might hear from me sooner as I’m planning on working through deer season as I find time to do so. I will be taking in Europeans as well as juggling deer hunting myself. 🦌
