PUPPY UPDATE! 🐶❤️
Our neighborhood puppies are officially on their way to a brighter future! Stormie called nearly 50 rescues before finding Rose Acres, who said yes and will help prepare these little guys for their forever homes.
We couldn't resist a stop at Frothy Dog Coffee Co. on the way, where they treated us to coffee and a little extra cheer for the journey. ☕🐾 Thank you to everyone who followed along, shared, cared, and helped get these babies safely on their way!

Everyone meet Clover! Aka Smiley, this sweet boy always has a smile on his face in hopes of locking eyes with his forever family! Clover is laid back and chill! Very well with other animals but would be good to be an only son as well! 😉

YAYYY!!!!!!!!!! We got a forever home !!!!!!!
Five left who need homes desperately. These boys are the sweetest and most cuddly pups in the world.
They have been around other animals as well as people and do great!!! If you find in your heart to open your home to one of these babies please let us know!!

More and more food is coming in.

This should get everyone through the next two or three weeks.

Thank you for your generosity. A few of you have given a lot.

The need in this world is truly endless, and our resources are few. Thank you from the depth of our hearts. Not for the food, but for not walking away and saying, this is someone else's problem. Someone else is taking care of it.

Anyway, now the puppies.

These are fantastically good-mannered puppies. We are going to post one of them at a time.

Take one home if you aren't already swamped with too many other throwaway dogs. Or find another kind-hearted sucker like you who will say, what the heck, what is one more?

We all wish folks would think twice before getting a dog, or be responsible owners and spay and neuter their dogs rather than allowing them to breed. But as they say, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

It is heartbreaking that amid all these discarded dogs and our desperate efforts to find them homes, we can lose sight of what outrageous treasures they are, what extraordinary gifts. This is not how it is supposed to be. People should be clamoring for the privilege of giving a dog a home, not the other way around.

So here we are. Six puppies. One at a time.

Now comes the hard part: these six puppies need homes.

We have been taking care of the medical side, and our staff and volunteers have been giving up their own time to help. Now we need our community.

Please share this post. Somewhere among your friends—or your friends' friends—may be the home one of these kids is waiting for.

If you're thinking about getting a dog, maybe this time rescue one instead of buying one.

We would love to find these puppies homes directly rather than add another burden to rescue organizations that are already overwhelmed.

We received our first donation of dog food for the pups in need! If you feel it in your heart to donate, we will appreciate anything!!!!!

Well, apparently we are in the dog food business now.

Good news: the two girls we thought needed to be spayed are done and doing well. The story of our rather eventful Sunday is here:

Then we discovered there is another girl. And, of course, the puppies.

But here's what I didn't fully understand before: these aren't our neighbor's dogs. Someone nearby keeps getting dogs and doesn't adequately feed or care for them. Our neighbor doesn't have much money. She simply can't watch them go hungry.

She could say, "They're not my dogs."

I could say the same.

So could you.

Then we would have established, quite successfully, that these dogs belong to nobody.

Except they're still hungry.

So I'm going to buy a metal container to keep food safe at her place. *If you'd like to throw $5 or $10 into the dog-food pot, call the office, send a check, or hand us a few dollars when you're here. We'll absorb the card fee.*

No guilt. No sad-puppy propaganda. 😄
