This beauty came in yesterday for a much-needed deshed treatment… and let’s just say, there was enough fluff removed to make another husky.

Plumes were flying, the coat transformation was REAL, and now she’s feeling fresh, light, and ready for summer adventures. ☀️🐾

Hot weather = higher risk for dogs 🐶☀️

A few simple rules can prevent heatstroke:

• Walk early morning or after sunset
• Test the pavement for 7 seconds with the back of your hand — if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for paws
• Skip walks on heat advisory days
• Bring water and take frequent breaks
• Watch for heavy panting, glassy eyes, slowing down, or refusing to walk
• Senior dogs, puppies, overweight dogs, flat-faced breeds, and double-coated dogs overheat faster

When in doubt, swap the walk for indoor enrichment and play. Mental enrichment indoors — snuffle balls, puzzle feeders, training games — beats a walk you don’t take. ❤️ Stop in for a new enrichment toy for those toasty days!
