Are you doing all the work with your horse, or do they have responsibilities, too?
Forward is everything. Maintaining the gait you ask for is their part of the partnership. You shouldn’t have to keep asking with every stride.
That responsibility starts on ride one and carries through to your most broke horses.
Feeling stuck and unsure what to work on? Be brave! Put your hand down and try this exercise. Give your horse the opportunity to carry their share of the responsibility.
They’ll show you what they understand—and where the holes are.

🌺Flinns Wh***ey Girl

🌸2021 AQHA Mare | 14.1 hands

🌺In Like Flinn x Leather Lace N Guns (Gunners Special Nite)

Ruby is a queen of a mare with a simple, ABC way of riding. She knows her job extremely well and brings plenty of try every time you swing a leg over her.
Strongly built and gritty, she will always stop in any ground. Never necessary to be asked for more effort, she steers like a Corvette, has an easy lead change, and turns like a top. In the show pen, she’s an absolute soldier—she does what you ask, when you ask, and waits for your next cue.
Outside the arena, Ruby heads down the trail like a using horse. She doesn’t need to stay in a full-time training program to stay broke. Give her some time off, and she’ll ride like the horse you remember when you find time for her again.
With limited showing, Ruby has earned over $8,500 in NRHA earnings, plus additional winnings in jackpot ranch riding classes. She has always been sound, has required no maintenance throughout her career, and has no vices.
Ruby has the dependable show-pen mind the Flinns are known for. Out of a great producing mare, she also offers exciting potential as a future broodmare.
