🌻 Introducing Absolute Frenchie’s Jett, Waylon’s Wildflower Legacy 🌻
I’ve been waiting to officially introduce this little girl. 🖤
She is the daughter of Shot in the Dark Ozzy × Janis Highshine Babe of Waylon, and the granddaughter of Sir Waylon the Bandit × Good Golly Miss Dolly.
But if you know me, you know none of those names are just names. There is a story behind every one of them.
And obviously, it had to be musical. 🎶
Jett is my nod to Joan Jett — rock & roll, independent, a little rebellious and plenty of attitude. And the 🖤 from Ozzy🤘 I have a feeling she's going to grow right into the Princess of Darkness!
Waylon (My Grandfather's legacy of music to me) is for Sir Waylon the Bandit, one of my originals and one of the dogs this entire program was built around. There was never a question that his name would keep traveling forward.
Wildflower is for Dolly. 🌻 Good Golly Miss Dolly is the other half of those original roots. With Dolly Parton passing just before I chose Jett's name, I knew I wanted a piece of Dolly in there too. "Wildflowers" felt right — beautiful, strong, a little untamed, and something that keeps growing from the roots left behind just like Dolly.
Then there is her mama, Janis Highshine Babe of Waylon.
Janis is my nod to Janis Joplin, someone Andrew and I both loved. The last book he and I ever shared.
My . My .
Janis was born just three months after Andrew crossed over, at a time when we desperately needed something alive to hold onto. She came along just in time to save a piece of us.
And in a lot of ways, she is the reason this program became what it is.
After so much loss, We needed LIFE.
Something to love. Something to raise. Something to plan for. Something to look forward to. Something that reminded us that even after the worst thing imaginable, life still grows.
Absolute Frenchie's grew from that.
And now Janis has given me Jett.
Her daddy, Shot in the Dark Ozzy, (OzMan our own Prince of Darkness)has his own place in this story too. Sometimes you take a shot in the dark, trust what you've built and hope all those years of planning come together the way you imagined. And with that shot we gained some pretty good friends and mentors with Toedters Isle of Frenchies who trusted us enough to bring our sweet OzMan home to our program!
And that brings me to the last part of her name: Legacy.
Because that's exactly what this little girl is.
