Equine and large animal emergency calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With our location adjacent to I-5, patients can be received at our hospital or our veterinary trucks can respond to field emergencies in Lane County, including all of the Eugene/ Springfield area and surrounding communities including:

Meet Brocolli—better known as 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙘! This handsome approximately 9-year-old Chiweenie (Dachshund/Chihuahua mix) has a pretty special story. ❤️

Before Broc came into their lives in 2017, his family never imagined they would become “small dog people.” But when this little guy arrived in a makeshift bed made from a produce box labeled “𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐢,” the name—and the love—stuck! 🥦

Broc is an energetic, friendly guy who absolutely loves everyone and everything, whether they have two legs, four legs, big paws, or little paws. He loves long walks, hiking adventures, and running on the beach. 🌊🐾

But don’t let all that energy fool you… Broc is also a 𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙣𝙖𝙥 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙖𝙨𝙩. 😴 His favorite place to nap is right on top of his Pit Bull sister, Ruby, where he can often be found “cleaning” her forehead. 😂❤️

If he’s not curled up in your lap or campaigning for snacks, there’s a very good chance he’s burrowed underneath a blanket somewhere, living his best cozy life.

Broc’s parents say he genuinely loves coming to South Willamette Veterinary Clinic, and our team absolutely loves seeing him!🥰

Meet Birdie, our adorable 2-year-old Australian Labradoodle! 💕 Birdie is incredibly smart, incredibly sweet, and quite possibly the most loving dog you could ever meet. She follows directions so well and is truly an absolute joy to have as part of the family. 🥰

Birdie has a 4-year-old Goldendoodle sister, and the two of them LOVE to play and chase each other around the house. When she’s not busy playing, Birdie enjoys treats, her favorite chew toy, and—apparently—any rag or blanket she can manage to pull into the living room! 😂🧸

With her loving personality, intelligence, and playful spirit, there’s no question in our minds that Birdie deserves to be our Pet of the Month! 🏆🐶💗

Meet 𝓢𝓪𝓼𝓱𝓪! 🩷

Sasha is our adorable little molly mule who recently spent some time with us while her mom was being bred. Her mom, 𝗞𝗼𝘁𝗮, is a beautiful Walkaloosa who was bred to a Mammoth Jack, making Miss Sasha a very special 𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙪𝙡𝙚!

Sasha is owned by Nel Shockley, who is working to produce gaited Appaloosa mules—a unique and exciting breeding program. We loved having this sweet (& sometimes 𝚜𝚙𝚒𝚌𝚢 🌶️) girl around and can't wait to watch her continue to grow and thrive!

An unfortunate incident occurred at the Saturday night July 4 performance of Eugene Pro Rodeo.
A horse got down in a bucking chute and would not get up. Three individuals used various methods to make the horse stand. Some of these techniques could be interpreted as severe. The horse finally did get up and was not injured. It was turned out the gate and not ridden for that event. Videos of that incident have caused public outcry on social media.
Our veterinarians were at the rodeo for that performance, but did not see what was happening in the bucking chute. The seating arrangement did not permit a clear line of sight into the chutes on that side of the arena.
It wasn’t until the following day that we were made aware of the incident.

On Monday, Dr. Violet contacted Eugene Pro Rodeo management and officials within the PRCA to express his concern about what had occurred. Local management said that no employees of EPR were involved with the handling of the horse.
PRCA officials were aware of what had happened and were investigating the situation. The outcome of this case is still pending. Professional rodeo has strict rules and regulations regarding proper and safe handling techniques for rough stock, cattle and horses.
Violators that are found guilty of infractions can be fined and/ or lose their membership cards within PRCA and be unable to participate in future rodeos.

Following discussions with Eugene Pro Rodeo, there will be measures taken in future rodeos to permit better visibility of action within the bucking chutes including video surveillance and different seating arrangements.

We were honored to help kick off the celebration by participating in the Creswell 4th of July Parade this morning. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with the community, waved along the parade route, and helped make this milestone birthday for our nation so special!

As we celebrate America's 250th birthday, we're grateful for the opportunity to serve the wonderful families, horses, and pets in our community every day.

Remember that loud fireworks can be stressful for our furry companions. Keep pets safely indoors, ensure they have identification, and give them a quiet, comfortable place to relax.

After a chaotic and messy first 11 months of life, Tully was swept off her paws by a wonderful dog rescue and given the keys to her forever home. She traded the drama for luxury, instantly claiming her throne.

Daily Operations:
Tully’s days are packed with high-priority tasks. Alongside her big brother and partner-in-crime, Mr. Pickles, she specializes in high-stakes games of tug-of-war and keep-away. When she isn't managing her estate—which includes chasing cats and scouting the best sunny spots for a nap—she can be found running errands at the store with her mom or conducting stealth maneuvers directly behind her humans' ankles.

Expert in Selective Hearing: Master of the "I didn't do it" face.

The "Starving" Protocol: Constantly convincing humans she has never been fed.

🌟🐾 Pet of the Month: Meet Jeffery! 🐾🌟

Here is what Jeffery’s parent had to say about this cute boy!

Hi everyone! My name is Jeffery, and I came to live with my Mommy and Daddy on February 28, 2026, all the way from Mt. St. Helens! ❤️
My Mommy says she loved me before she even saw me—and I think I believe her because she gives me LOTS of kisses and hugs all the time! I guess it’s okay… 😊

I’m growing really fast and learning so much! I can run super fast (zoomies are my specialty 🏃‍♂️💨), I can jump, climb the big stairs, and I just learned how to go DOWN the big stairs two days ago!
I’m getting really big, learning quickly, and I’ve discovered I can growl, bark loudly, and show off my very sharp teeth too! But my favorite thing is still cuddling with my Mommy because she loves me so much. ❤️

I also love going to South Willamette Veterinary Clinic, where Dr. Olson and all the amazing vet techs take such good care of me. They always give me hugs and squeezes, and I love that!
