Everyone meet Sugar! 🍬🐴

Sugar will be joining the FrizzleBops Farm family around July 1st, and we couldn’t be more excited! While she’s an older girl, she has exactly the kind of calm, gentle personality that makes a great teacher.

Once she arrives, Sugar will help introduce a new generation of riders to the world of horses through lessons, confidence-building, and plenty of patient encouragement. Every great horse person starts somewhere, and we’re proud that Sugar will help inspire those first rides and lifelong memories.

We can’t wait to welcome her home! 💚

🌾 Farm Fact: Horses are excellent teachers for children because they naturally respond to confidence, patience, and clear communication. Many young riders learn responsibility, empathy, and leadership skills simply by spending time caring for and working with horses! 🐴✨

Can you tell how excited our goats are for FrizzleBops Farm to open in July?

Yeah… neither can we.

While everyone else is counting down the days, Olaf, Anna, Artie, and Pixie seem to have mastered the art of doing absolutely nothing. If relaxation were an Olympic sport, this crew would be bringing home gold medals.

July is getting closer, the pastures are growing, the projects are coming together, and our future residents are busy preparing.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone to FrizzleBops Farm, even if our goat management team isn’t quite ready to get off the couch.

Farm Fact: Goats have rectangular pupils. Those unusual eyes give them a nearly 320-degree field of vision, helping them spot predators while they graze and relax.

Everyone deserves a safe place to rest at FrizzleBops Farm… even tiny dragon guardians. 🦎💚

Meet Rusty, our newest little fence line supervisor. He was spotted blending perfectly into the cow panels like a tiny prehistoric farm ninja. Around here, we love animals big and small, from giant hoofstock to little creatures quietly helping keep nature in balance.

Fun farm fact: Anoles can actually change shades of color depending on temperature, stress, and surroundings, kind of like Florida’s version of a mini chameleon! They also help farms by eating mosquitoes, flies, and other small insects.

At FrizzleBops Farm, every creature has a place.

After a long day of snacks, sunshine, and supervising the farm… Olaf officially clocked out. 😴🐐

We caught this sweet boy slowly nodding off like a little kid fighting sleep at bedtime, and honestly, it may be one of the cutest things we’ve ever filmed.

People don’t always realize goats form routines and comfort habits just like dogs do. Once they feel safe and relaxed, they’ll often lay down near their favorite people or herd mates and drift right off to sleep.

Farm fact: Goats actually take short naps throughout the day instead of one long sleep cycle. That means professional level power napping is basically part of Olaf’s job description.

Needless to say, the review was overwhelmingly positive. 🌿😂

At FrizzleBops Farm, fresh browse isn’t just enrichment… it’s a full dining experience. Between the crunch, the flavor, and the excitement of getting something “new,” our animals take their snack evaluations very seriously.

Farm fact: American beautyberry is native to Florida and has traditionally been used as a natural insect-repelling plant. The bright purple berries are famous, but many hoofstock animals also enjoy browsing the leaves!

New baby trees alert 🌱

Today we officially started the next generation of FrizzleBops shade and browse trees with 10 red mulberry clones and 1 black willow clone now rooting away. If all goes well, these should be ready for permanent planting in about 6 weeks.

One of the coolest parts about farming is realizing you can take a simple clipping from a healthy tree and turn it into an entirely new life. Future shade. Future browse for the animals. Future beauty for the property. All from a branch that most people would walk right past.

The mulberries are especially exciting because they grow incredibly fast here in the Florida Panhandle and eventually provide natural snacks for livestock, wildlife, and birds alike. The black willow will hopefully become part of a future shaded area on the farm as well.

Farm fact of the day:
Mulberry trees are considered one of the best “living livestock feeders” in the world. Their leaves are packed with protein, and animals ranging from goats to pigs to even some cattle absolutely love them. Some farmers even call mulberries “the alfalfa tree.”

Slowly but surely, FrizzleBops Farm is starting to feel like something special.

A few months ago a lot of this was just woods, rough ground, and ideas. Now there are fenced pastures, shelters, shaded hangout spots, and animals enjoying spaces that were built specifically for them.

There’s still a long road ahead and plenty more projects waiting on us, but days like this make it easy to stop for a second and appreciate how far things have come already.

Farm fact of the day:
Donkeys are incredibly expressive animals. They use body language, ear position, and vocalizations to communicate with both humans and other animals, and many can form extremely strong bonds with their herd mates and caretakers. They are actually incredible guardians for livestock. They naturally dislike coyotes and stray dogs, and many farms use them to help protect goats, sheep, and smaller animals. They’re also surprisingly observant and can remember animals, people, and places for years.

New volunteer alert at FrizzleBops Farm. ❤️

Today was Noelle’s very first day with us, and we honestly could not be more thankful to have her here. Noelle actually previously volunteered with me back during my zoo days, so getting the opportunity to work alongside her again means a lot to us.

From the moment she arrived today, she jumped straight into the work without hesitation. Cleaning enclosures, helping care for the animals, learning routines, asking questions, and giving every single task her full attention and heart.

People often think animal work is just cuddles and cute moments, but the reality is that real animal care starts with hard work, consistency, compassion, and showing up even when the jobs are messy. Noelle absolutely proved today that she has the heart for this field.

The picture here was taken after a long first day of hard work around the farm. After finishing chores and animal care, Noelle sat down with Siri beside the pig enclosure to spend some time learning more about pig behavior, care, and handling. Honestly, moments like this are what FrizzleBops Farm is all about. Sharing knowledge, building experience, and helping passionate people grow in the animal field.

She’s currently pursuing a future in animal conservation and needed volunteer hours and hands-on experience, and we are incredibly proud to be part of that journey. More importantly, we’re just grateful to know such a kind, hardworking human being. The animals already seem to adore her, and honestly, so do we.

One thing we strongly believe at FrizzleBops Farm is that passion matters. You can teach skills. You can teach routines. But you cannot teach someone to genuinely care about animals the way Noelle already does.

Farm fact of the day: Did you know pigs are considered one of the most intelligent animals on earth? Studies show they can learn routines faster than many dogs, recognize people, solve simple puzzles, and even remember locations for years. Which means yes… the pigs absolutely know who brings snacks.

We’re excited for everything ahead and can’t wait to watch Noelle grow here at the farm. Welcome to the FrizzleBops family, Noelle. 🐷🐐🐴🫏

Last night sometime in the evening, someone came onto our property and caused damage to our apple orchard and removed two of our genetic “mother” trees.

This is incredibly disheartening. Many of you know we’ve been working hard to build something here that benefits not just us, but the community long term. These aren’t just random trees. They are carefully selected genetics that we’re growing and preserving for future propagation. They won’t thrive just anywhere, and replacing them isn’t simple.

Due to our recent expansion, we haven’t had a chance to get cameras installed in that corner of the property yet, which makes this even more frustrating.

If anyone saw any unusual activity, vehicles, or people in the area last night, please reach out to me directly. Even the smallest detail could help.

We’re not looking to create problems, we just want to understand what happened and prevent it from happening again.

We appreciate this community and any help you can provide.
