1 year, 6 months and 13 days spent in shelter systems. 🥹

Beau had a tough life before landing at Crestview Animal Services, but when he came to us, we truly thought he’d be adopted in no time. He’s happy-go-lucky, playful, goofy and just an all-around GOOD dog.

But for some reason, Beau kept getting overlooked.

We even transferred him to another shelter hoping being the “new guy” would give him a fresh start. Eventually, he made his way back to us — and we kept waiting for his person to find him.

On October 14th, after 562 days, it finally happened.

Beau got his dad. 💙💛

People often ask us, “How much time do they have at the shelter?”

Our answer: As much time as they need, as long as their quality of life allows it.

Sometimes their person comes tomorrow. Sometimes it takes 562 days. Either way, we’ll keep showing up for them.

And there are still plenty of Beaus waiting for their turn. 🐾

Come meet them! We’re open for adoptions tomorrow and Saturday, and we’ll also have adoptable animals at Spanish Trail on Saturday from 11 AM–2 PM!

Maybe somebody’s long wait ends this weekend. 🫶🏻

🎃🐾 PUMPKINS, PICKIN & PUPS! 🐾🎃

We’ve been graciously invited to participate in Pumpkins & Pickin this Saturday, October 24th!

We’ll be there from 11 AM–2 PM with some adorable adoptable animals looking for their forever homes. 🐶🐱🧡

Come enjoy the festivities, meet some amazing animals, and maybe leave with a new best friend! 🍂🐾

We are incredibly grateful to Florida State Animal Response Coalition, Greater Good Charities, and Alaqua Animal Refuge for providing us with THREE pallets of pet food! 💙💛

This generous donation will go a long way as our community recovers and will absolutely be put to good use helping pets and families who need it most.

SNOWBALL: We have continued setting and checking the trap, but unfortunately we have not had any additional sightings of Snowball. Please continue to keep an eye out, especially in the John King/White Water Ln/Renee Court area!

If you see her, please do not chase or approach her — just note the location and direction she is traveling and call us at 850-682-2055.

💙FOSTER UPDATE: Beginning today at 11 AM, we can start receiving foster pets back at the respective shelter you picked them up from.

We cannot thank everyone enough for stepping up and opening your homes during the storm. You helped us tremendously! 🐾

And if you’ve fallen in love with fostering and would like to continue fostering your current pet, you are absolutely welcome to — just let us know! 💛
