⚡️🎮 Gotta Catch ‘em All 🎮⚡️

Meet our little Pokémon litter. Coined because that’s truly how kitten season is feeling right now. Except we aren’t trying to catch them they just kinda appear and then our lives revolve around them 😅

And this family is no different. They quickly became rescue favorites because of just how perfect they are 😍. I mean who doesn’t love a mamma and her six little, freeloaders that were all left at the doorstep? Just call us a PokéStop.

The cluster spawn are officially 8 weeks old and very much ready to evolve into a home that isn’t our rescue. We are already pretty sure the 5 boys just duplicated..

UPDATE: safe with a foster

SOS EMERGENCY FOSTER NEEDED TODAY

This little kitten was brought to us during a spay/neuter day.

All of our cage space in our rescue is full. We need a foster willing to commit to fostering him for at least two weeks before we can have space to fully bring him into our facility.

He’s a little rough right now but he just needs a little TLC. All meds will be provided.

While we ponder all the names you provided for Orange Boy (spoiler we did pick one), let us take this time to introduce yet another orange guy with a rough start.

Meet Skully

Named for obvious reasons ➡️💀

On a late Sunday night, Skully was brought to us after being found in the road earlier that day. The people who found him initially reached out to one of our rescue partners and were advised to bring him inside and keep him safe until help could arrive.

Instead, the fully alive kitten suffering from severe head trauma was placed in a box and left down the street with the trash.

Thankfully, our rescue partners were able to find him, but by that point he was in critical condition.

When Skully arrived, he showed every sign of significant brain trauma. His eyes darted rapidly from side to side, he had full-body tremors, his head was completely tilted to the left, he could barely lift it, and he was unable to stand or walk.

Guided by Kathleen Elstrott Achord we managed to stabilize him before getting him to her first thing the following morning.

His recovery was slow, but every day was an improvement:

Day 2: No more darting eyes
Day 3: Tremors resolved
Day 4: Head tilt disappeared
Day 5: Able to stand, but very unsteady
Day 6: Standing more consistently but walking in left-leaning circles
Day 7: Improved balance with only minimal circling

Little by little, Skully regained control of his body.

Along the way, he underwent several procedures to improve both his chances of survival and his long-term healing. Kat Vet even got to practice her plastic surgery skills, giving our boy a bit of a facelift that left him with a permanent cat-eye look.

Today, Skully is officially two weeks post-op and healing beautifully. At roughly 9 weeks old, he has made an incredible recovery and is now fully available for adoption.

From an injured kitten left with the trash to a playful orange boy who will never be forgotten again.

🧡 Update on our disheveled Orange Boy! 🧡

If you don’t know his story already, this little guy and his brother came to us after being abandoned in a wooded area with flea collars wrapped around their chests. Both boys suffered severe flea collar toxicity that left them fighting for their lives for weeks. Sadly, his brother didn’t make it.

But Orange Boy has gone from “king of unthrift” to somewhat thriving. He’s slowly regrowing all of his fur after weeks of constant face-rubbing from both himself and us (to be fair, he was an absolute mess after treatments and feedings).

Now that he’s officially been given a clean bill of health, there’s just one problem…

He sorta kinda needs a real name 🤷‍♀️

We know what you’re thinking, we’ve had him for over a month now so why hasn’t he been bestowed a title? Well there is a whole lotta superstition behind naming kittens before proper clearance…iykyk…

Anyway, with 150+ cats in rescue, our naming creativity has really taken its toll on us. So we’re handing this responsibility over to you because…well…we are tired.

And yes, we know we’ve done this before and never officially announced the winners. In our defense, one litter was adopted before we could even post them, and the two other litters got sick and are still waiting for their adoption debut. But we did use your suggestions! Thanks to our independent girlie and naming consultant, Toph, previous winning themes were “Tools🔧” and “The Pitt💉”

Trust when we say you’ve successfully contributed to the Cat Naming Agenda…just without the recognition. Rescue life and social media balance is getting hard guys 😅

Now it’s time to help us name this little creature currently known as Orange Boy.

Dear Humans,

We’ve reviewed the current staffing situation and have some concerns.

There are simply not enough people dedicated to serving us. Our food bowls are filled, our beds are fluffy, and our rescue staff works very hard, but frankly, we believe more humans should be available for cat-related duties.

That’s where you come in.

Forgotten Felines Rescue is looking for volunteers to assist with important feline operations, including:
🐾 Admiring us
🐾 Telling us we’re pretty
🐾 Feeding us
🐾 Cleaning our rooms after we’ve redecorated them with litter
🐾 Entertaining kittens who woke up and chose chaos
🐾 Helping more cats find homes

We are accepting volunteers as young as 12 years old.

🐱 Ages 12–15 must bring an adult human.
🐱 Ages 16+ may volunteer independently, which seems risky, but we’ll allow it.

Attention high school students: Need service hours this summer? We have plenty. You can earn hours while being supervised by tiny furry managers who contribute absolutely nothing financially.

Forgotten Felines Rescue is 100% volunteer-run, which means every cat you see here is helped by humans who decided sleeping in was less important than helping cats. Weird, but appreciated.

Honey needs a foster home ASAP.

This sweet 7 month old girl has been patiently waiting, but without a foster, our options become very limited. Honey is a Pit Bull Terrier/Chihuahua mix who is dog friendly, cat friendly, and loves people. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she’s an affectionate cuddle bug.

Honey is fully vetted, heartworm negative, microchipped, spayed, current on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and up to date on preventative care.

Fostering is completely free. Forgotten Felines Rescue provides all food, supplies, and medical care. All you provide is a safe place for Honey to stay while she waits for her forever family.

Fosters are our most valuable resource. Without them, we can’t continue saying yes to animals in need.

People often see the cute adoption photos. They don’t always see this part.

Every bowl on this table is made for a specific cat. Medications, supplements, prescription diets, probiotics, fiber, appetite stimulants, special additives, syringe feedings, and whatever else that individual cat needs to stay healthy and continue healing.

What looks like a table full of cat food is actually hours of work.

Many of the cats in our care aren’t simply waiting for homes. They’re recovering from illness, gaining weight, managing chronic conditions, healing from injuries, or receiving treatment that gives them a chance at the happy, healthy future they deserve.

We know it can be frustrating when you don’t get an immediate response to your text, email, or Facebook message. The reality is that this is what our days often look like.

Forgotten Felines Rescue is entirely volunteer run. Our officers all have full time jobs, and when we’re at the rescue, our priority is the animals already in our care. Feeding, medicating, cleaning, monitoring, vet appointments, intake evaluations, laundry, litter boxes, and everything in between takes up the majority of our time.

So if it takes us a little while to get back to you, please know we’re not ignoring you. We’re probably standing at a table just like this one, making sure a cat gets the care they need.

Rescue is so much more than adoptions. It’s the behind-the-scenes work that happens every single day, whether anyone sees it or not.

And thanks to our volunteers, fosters, donors, and supporters, we’re able to keep showing up and doing it.

**Esha still available**

Meet our little singers

They are a mixed bunch of orphan babies. They may not share the same mom but they do share the same passion of yelling…uhhh singing…when a human is near..😅

We can only assume they are practicing their daily vocal performance in hopes of winning a Grammy one day. They will even serenade you choir style at dinner time. We would never discourage their dreams and we hope their future families would do the same.

Besides singing…they have also gained other hobbies like kamikazing into your body, eating human hair, and being EXTREMELY addicted to churros. Clearly a gateway drug. Baby Olivia may need rehab in the future…but that’s showbiz for you 🤩
