Shedding season is here! 🐾 Don't wait to get your double-coated pups in for a bath or groom, de-shedding can be added to either appointment type!

What is de-shedding? It's a process of removing all of the loose undercoat (the fuzzy stuff that creates dust balls in the corners of your home) and most, if not all, of the loose topcoat fur (the more hair-like strands that stick to clothing). It's painless and simple! Just a lot of elbow grease on my part. For most dogs, it's just $10 extra for heavy coats.

There's something SO cute about a simple, short trim! Short styles will save you a lot of time brushing between appointments 😌 Sometimes a short trim is necessary if significant tangling or matted fur is present, but this sweet dog shows off that short is CUTE! No matter the reason why you choose the length.

Don't wait to book your appointments! Appointment times are becoming fewer and fewer. The best chance to get consistent appointments with me is to book in advance. Repeating 4 week appointments (or sooner) will recieve a 5% discount. Most dogs do well on a 4-10 week schedule depending on their fur type and your budget. I just LOVE being trusted to introduce puppies to their first ever grooming 💕 Mr. Bentley was very brave for his face/feet/sani trim. It's a really good idea to get your puppies in before they're older than 16 weeks. This helps them associate with the grooming process before the crucial socialization period closes.

"Can I bring both dogs at once?" YES! Multi-dog households are welcome to bring their dogs all for the same appointment time.

I can take up to two large dogs with up to four smaller dogs altogether. If you don't have any big ones, I can take EIGHT small dogs at one appointment! (😆 Who even has that many??) I don't normally groom quite that many dogs in one day, but that's the literal limit per how many dogs I can safely house in kennels. You just might need your own dedicated DAY of appointment time if you did manage to bring me 6-8 dogs 😅

All jokes aside, many folks have 2-3 dogs, and yes you can bring all to the same appointment slot, no problem. I will still have dedicated time with each pet!

Yes! 🐈 I do groom cats! I have a few rules and guidelines for a smooth grooming process that I'd like to share, in no particular order:

Rabies vaccinations are required, and I recommend getting all additional vaccines your vet recommends for their safety.

Cats must be generally sweet tempered and calm to tolerate grooming. Many cats are very stressed to leave their homes, let alone have a stranger touching them. Sometimes it's best for the cat to go to their vet for a sedated groom or nail trim if it's medically necessary to be done.

If a cat (or any pet) is too aggressive or stressed to tolerate grooming, I will end the groom and encourage the parent to seek veterinary advice for a sedated groom. I do not and will not physically force any animal to stay still and accept being groomed if they are too scared or in too much pain to do so. That would put the animal and myself in danger of irreparable physical and emotional harm.

Very old, skinny, or sickly cats should see a vet for grooming if it is necessary. I can only safely groom healthy cats.

I do not use any or allow any use of sedatives to be used on any pets for grooming. I am not a vet and do not have a vet on staff to watch vitals and ensure safety.

My cat grooming prices range from $60-150+ depending on what your cat needs. I prefer not to shave any fur unless it's totally necessary.

Cats will only get baths with me if they can tolerate it with low to moderate stress levels. If the teeth or claws start to come out or the cat is otherwise panicking, baths are skipped.

I encourage all pet parents to collect their pets from the salon as quickly as possible after I let them know they're ready. Cats especially need to have prompt pick ups! No pet likes to wait longer than necessary for their parent to come for them.

STARTING MARCH 10: The salon is moving! Don't worry, it's not going far. Just five minutes away to a storefront off Main Street in Covington. 13 W Hill Rd!

If you've driven through Covington, you'll know about the flashing yellow light intersection. The new location is right there! Southbound, turn right at the light; northbound, turn left. It's where the hairdresser used to be. Park on the street and come on in for your appointments as usual.

There may be opportunities for walk-ins in the future. I will post here and leave a sign out front at times where walk-ins are possible.

The current hours for appointment times are 10:00-4:30 with some flexibility to as early as 9am as demand for appointments increases. 4:30 is the latest I can take most dogs for them to be done by or before 6pm.

Appointments are drop off only (except cooperative pets for Nail Trim Only) As is current within the policies, please pick up your pet within one hour of being contacted that they are ready, unless prior arrangements are made. Please be as prompt as possible, your pets don't want to be without you for longer than necessary.

Our open days will remain Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Shedding season is upon us! Is your dog's fur rolling around your house like tumbleweeds in the Wild West? Book a bath with me! Let me de-shed your pup so you don't have to. This service is much more than "just brushing" you can do at home.

I use specialized shampoos and conditioners selected specifically for your pet's coat, a high strength forced air dryer to list the loose fur away from the skin, and specialized brushes to get any remaining shedding out. My process is low stress for the pet and great for their skin.

Brush burn is very common if the de-shed method is only brushing for an extended time! Be super careful to check for redness and irritation when you're brushing at home 💕

Friends! Please stay safe and warm at home. Appointments for tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday may be rescheduled at any point with no penalties. Let's keep a close eye on the weather for those Wednesday appointments, and hopefully we won't need to reschedule those.

The Borough Mayor has made a snow declaration declaring no unnecessary travel on Borough Streets, no parking in any metered parking spaces, except for Lots A & B, or along the length of Main Street starting Sunday January 25, 2026, at 7am until 7am Tuesday morning January 27, 2026.
If the pending storm lasts longer than predicted, the Borough could extend the parking ban if needed.
