🎆 Keep Your Dog Safe This Fourth of July 🎆

While fireworks are a celebration for us, they can be frightening for many dogs. A little preparation can go a long way in helping your dogs feel more safe and secure.

💙Exercise earlier in the day to help burn off energy.
💙Provide enrichment like food puzzles, chews, or sniffing activities to keep busy and promote relaxation.
💙Create a quiet, comfortable space indoors away from windows. You can close blinds, turn on fans.
💙Use classical music, white noise, or a sound machine to help mask fireworks.
💙Keep doors and gates secure, and make sure your dog’s ID tags and microchip information are up to date.

The Fourth of July is one of the busiest days of the year for lost pets. With a little planning, you can help your dog stay safe, comfortable, and home where they belong. ❤️🐶

While you’re enjoying the fireworks and festivities, don’t forget about your furry family members! 🎆🐾

Here are a few ways to help keep your pets safe this Independence Day:
🐶 Keep pets indoors during fireworks.
🆔 Make sure collars and ID tags are up to date.
🎵 Turn on a TV, fan, or calming music to help drown out loud noises.
🚪 Keep doors and gates securely closed—frightened pets can run away.
🍔 Keep holiday foods, alcohol, and glow sticks out of reach.
💊 If your pet has prescribed anti-anxiety medication, give it as directed before the fireworks begin.

A little preparation can make for a much safer and less stressful holiday for everyone. Wishing you and your pets a fun, safe, and happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸❤️🐾

👋 Meet the Trainer: Livvy

Livvy’s journey into dog training truly began after adopting her first dog as an adult — a dog with significant challenges, including human and dog reactivity, separation anxiety, and severe handling sensitivities. Through working with a reward-based trainer and immersing herself in training and behavior modification, Livvy not only helped her dog thrive but also discovered a passion for the process itself. That journey opened the door to dog sports such as nose work, barn hunt, rally, agility, and more.

She brings both scientific rigor and real-world empathy to her work, having left a career as a CDC research fellow to pursue helping people and their animals.
Livvy especially enjoys working with puppies and adolescent dogs struggling with impulse control and manners, as well as teaching nose work sports. Her approach is supportive, practical, and focused on helping clients not just manage challenges — but truly enjoy life with their dogs.
