Nail maintenance...so much more then just pretty toes.
Lulu and Nani have a date with Shannon, every 3 weeks, to keep their nails in tip top shape. Regular nail maintenance, keeps the girls feeling their best, their quick nice and short and prevents further issues, long nails can cause.
Why do nails so frequently?
Well long nails can cause many issues for dogs. It can effect the posture and gate of a dog which can lead to early arthritis, cause other joint issues and strain on the wrists, elbows and hips.
Long nails are more prone to splintering, cracking and breaking, which can be incredibly painful.
Keeping nails nice and short can help prevent falls and allow dogs to have better traction.
Think about it like this, having long nails is like wearing high heels all day long. No thank you 😅
It's never to late to start nail maintenance. It may take some time for the quick to recede back into the nail bed, but it is possible with consistency. Your pup will thank you for it ☺️

Something happened to Petrie yesterday. I told him it was almost October and he woke up ready for spooky season. He may look ferocious but he's still the friendly salon greeter 🐅🐾
