The AVMA have studied this correlation for years and found that:

- 62% of neutered male pets life longer than unneutered pets
- 39% of spayed female pets live longer than unspayed females.

So why does this correlate with a longer life span?

Spaying and neutering helps prevent deadly infections (like pyometras), reduces the risks of mammary and testicular cancers, lowers the risk of fighting, roaming and disease exposure in hormonal pets.
