Every home office needs an office cat! Marten is willing to be "that cat"! Marten is about 2 years old and super friendly...and definitely nosy! He has inspected our iMac, checked out the new office chair, and knocked plenty of paper off the desk. We are reducing Marten's adoption price so that he can find his dream office as soon as possible. Come by for an interview today! (33 N. 8th street behind the This and That Shop in Cottage Grove).

August 8 is International Cat Day. The International Fund for Animal Welfare created the holiday in 2002 to celebrate cats, raise money and support, and teach people how to keep cats safe.

This day brings attention to the thousands of homeless and stray cats worldwide. It is meant to support the fight against animal abuse and neglect. It also encourages folks to adopt cats and kittens from local rescues and shelters. Finally, it brings focus to good care for our feline friends. Check with your local Humane Society or Rescue and learn how you can help!

Paws up and let’s celebrate the Day of the Cat!🐈‍⬛

"Little Girl" needs a new home! This lovely red tabby is 10 years old, spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Little girl is a real "lap cat" and has always been indoors. She is not comfortable around dogs and prefers to be an only cat. If you are looking for a new purr-baby, Little Girl would love the role. Please call Barbara at 916-342-2830 to find out more about this beautiful tabby girl.

If Andy Warhol met Simone...this is how he would have painted her! This lovely senior cat is looking for a warm lap and a fur'ever' home. She was surrendered to HSCG when her human passed away. She is about 13-14 years old and slightly arthritic...but she can still jump in your lap and purr up a storm. Come by the Humane Society of Cottage Grove cattery and meet this lovely girl. Simone loves humans, but she is not overly fond of other cats and would do well in an "only cat" home situation.

What if we could find a compromise between landlords and renters when it comes to pets? With housing being limited, pet overpopulation and overcrowded shelters, maybe we can work together to help make a difference. Just something to share and think about. I know nothing is perfect, but we can always start somewhere!

Martin is neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations. Martin loves attention, and he thinks it's his job to make everyone feel special and adored. He gets along with other cats, but has not been dog-tested. Come and meet Martin at the HSCG cattery and be prepared to be charmed!
