This sweet (and sleepy!) boy is Kawa! Kawa came to see us because he was hit by a truck last Friday. Kawa is a LOVE and very passionate about helping out on the ranch.... a little TOO passionate this time... and when his dad was backing out of his parking spot Kawa tried to navigate.... directly from his dad's blind spot! His dad Matt has been doing all he can to help Kawa feel better. Matt is a local artist who has been creating beautiful sculptures from recycled materials for years. His work is in feilds around Sonoma County.

We want to help Kawa. His breaks are too severe for repair and an amputation is his best option. Matt and Kawa have a GoFundMe to help with the surgery and we are taking direct donations as well! Please consider donating so we can get Kawa mobile again! He still has a lot of love to give and we want to give him a chance!

Peekaboo and Pippi are taking on life together with grace, charm, and EXCELLENT transportation!

These two beautiful golden gals are making memories together, one luxurious stroller ride at a time! According to their mom - Peekaboo was a very sad and anxious pup when she was alone.... so they brought home Pippi and the two of them are now inseparable! They are also much more confident.... But ONLY if they are in their stroller!

Today the girls came in to meet everyone at AHCRP and have their annual wellness exams! The girls love their stroller so much that they do better if they stay inside of it - and so our talented techs gave them their vaccines while the perfectly posh pups Peekaboo and Pippi perched in their pram! (We recognize the wording is getting increasingly elaborate—but their standards are rightfully high, so we stand by it)

We love to see dedicated owners (like Peekaboo and Pippi's mom!) that want to make sure their pet's needs are met - even if that means getting creative (at the request of their very knowledgeable pup parent!) with how we administer treatments!

So congrats to Stacie and Lacey because New achievement unlocked: They can now add stroller-side vaccine administration to their long list of creative and gentle techniques that help our patients feel more comfortable!

What a difference a week makes!

Meet Gnocchi! She was found in a barn, cold, alone and hungry. Her mom took her in, cleaned her up and started bottle feeding her right away. Her mom did an amazing job, but after a week of warm bottles, a clean bed and a ton of snuggles,she still wasn't 100%.

Her very dedicated mom brought her into see Dr. Claxton who gave her a thorough exam and sent her home with some meds and asked her to come back in 1 week for recheck... When she came back, it was like a different kitten! Her mom followed Dr. C's treatment plan to a T and little Gnocchi is now a perfectly healthy and playful 6 week old kitten! (In fact, she spent most of her visit trying to climb out ot her "transport box" to play wth everyone in the office! )

We LOVE seeing our patients thriving! Thanks for coming in Gnocchi! You and your mom are amazing! We can't wait to watch you grow!

🐾 HELP US MAKE OUR PATIENTS COZY! 🐾 Donate Towels/Blankets.

Calling all pet parents in the Cotati and Rohnert Park area! As we recently opened the doors to the Animal Hospital of Cotati and Rohnert Park, we are on a mission to make sure every furry patient feels right at home.

Sometimes, a soft blanket is exactly what a pet needs to feel safe during a checkup or while waking up from surgery. To keep our patients snug and warm, we are looking for donations of:

1. Gently used (and clean!) bath and hand towels

2. Fleece or cotton blankets

3. Small throw rugs (with non-slip backing)

⚠️ A Quick Note:
To keep our patients safe, we cannot accept items with electric heating elements, down feathers, or large bed pillows, as these can be a bit tricky (and messy!) in a clinical setting.
