Hotels that welcome pets if you need to evacuate for the hurricane

With Dorian taking aim at Florida, the reality of an emergency evacuation for people threatened by hurricanes is very real. While it may be an easy decision to pack up your most prized possessions, one thing that often gets left behind in natural disaster evacuations is a pet.

Hello I am Hatcher! I was born on May 23rd. I am a neutered male coonhound who will get to be 55-80lbs. I need a home with a yard and a family that can keep me active. My breed is very clever, affectionate, intelligent, active, and trainable. We are not for the faint hearted. I need someone who will spend a lot of time in training me and understanding I’m a hound with a voice and to not fault me for it. We are some of the best dogs if you just give us a chance. I am a 15-20 year commitment that will be totally worth it. As you can see I am missing an ear, have a little issue with one of my eyes, and I have a kinked tail. Life wasn’t easy for me at first. I was apart of an accidental litter that was born one of the hottest weeks at the beginning of summer. My mom was trying to move us to cooler spots a lot and accidentally bit off my ear and possibly got my eye a little bit. None of those things effect me though. I’m still a puppy with the drive to please you and my sniffer still works 😉. The family couldn’t keep me as they have my parents and other dogs to care for but they really tried to find me a forever home but then came the day they reached out to an organization on the way to taking me to the shelter in a rural county. Well someone had a soft spot for me and took me in. I really like to follow you wherever you go I just want to be Velcro to you ... unless a smell seems a little more interesting. I need a home with a lot of room to run outdoors so no apartments please. I hope to meet you soon! I promise it will be love at first sight! Contact Sara via call or text 9108334184

Lucy is a 1 year old lab mix that her family is unable to keep. Her landlord is threatening eviction in a week. She is beside herself and doesn’t want to take her to a shelter.
Lucy is vaccinated, spayed and good with kids. Since she is a solo dog, she hasn’t been exposed to other dogs or cats. She is very friendly and good with kids, but she has a lot of energy. She pees and poops in one place outside. For more information please email
