Reef Systems Inc. is looking for a reliant, self-motivated, and diligent individual to assist with servicing aquariums and installation of new projects. In the past, Reef Systems Inc. has worked in both residential and commercial properties around the Orange/Los Angeles/San Diego County areas and is looking to expand. We are currently looking for 1 part-time position and 1 full-time to fill but opportunities to transition to a full-time may be available. Experience in handling animals and aquarium construction and maintenance is preferred but on-site training is available. This is a physical position, must be able to lift 75 lbs and be on your feet for an entire workday. Driver’s license is required and must be in good standing. Hourly pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities:
-Operate a vehicle in a safe manner and have a clean driving record.
-Perform regularly scheduled maintenance for our clients at residential and commercial properties and maintain a clean environment.
-Light electrical and plumbing skills used to troubleshoot maintenance issues
-Deliver and acclimate fish, corals, and invertebrates to client aquariums.
-Be able to test water quality and maintain aquarium chemistry
-Maintain a daily schedule and communicate any changes to be approved by management.
-Follow all of Reef System Inc.’s procedures and protocols.
-Ability to think critically to trouble shoot problems and execute a solution.
-Provide accurate and detailed service reports on duties performed weekly and provide to management in a timely manner.
-Communicate clearly and effectively and make appropriate recommendations to the client.
-Build and maintain a professional and positive relationships with clients.
-Assist with aquarium installation or related projects.
-Assist with miscellaneous maintenances and tasks at the main shop.
-Maintain a positive and healthy work relationship with both management and co-workers throughout the day and share information.
-Scuba diving to maintain large tanks
-Ability to travel out of state for conferences or jobs
Qualifications:
Familiarity with social media platforms and the Microsoft office suite is preferred.
Experience in fish husbandry or basic aquariology and aquarium maintenance is preferred. We are looking for positive hard-working individuals that are willing to learn.
Light electrical and plumbing skills are preferred, experience on construction sites also preferred
Scuba certification and ability to dive in small areas
Must be able to report to the shop located in Costa Mesa.
Minimum of 3 years driving experience and a clean record.
High school diploma, higher education preferred.
Clean record – background checks will be conducted.
Ability to properly lift 50lbs or more.
English literacy
Ability to work a flexible shift and adapt to changing schedules.
Have a pleasant and professional appearance and manner.
