300 Penny Bites later and we’re ready for the 11th annual Walk-n-Wag event! Happening Saturday, September 23rd at Minto Brown Island Park in Salem, this fun local festival and walk in the park benefits Willamette Vital Health’s Pet Peace of Mind program, and Grief Care Outreach and Expansion Project.

There will be food & drink, activities, t-shirts, and lots of great people and dog watching.

The Savvy Dog Ranch will also be there with demos and agility equipment for you to try out with your pups!

Come on by, grab a treat, take a walk, and support this lovely event!

You all know our CEO, Ms.PennyLane, but do you know the hooman behind the operation? This is Anna and this is her story about how PB came to be:

“Penny Bites were created because our family dog, Penny, is … a picky eater, to put it nicely. Penny had a rough start before coming into our lives through a local shelter in Corvallis, Oregon. When it came to store-bought treats, nothing was ever good enough. (She rejected all of them!) And giving her treats with no expiration date and ingredients I couldn't pronounce was not an option. So I began experimenting in our home kitchen, and the results became Penny Bites: wholesome, home-baked snacks packed with nutritious, natural, and fresh ingredients to reward our favorite four-legged family member.”

Hello! Today we wanted to share what exactly goes into our Penny Bites! Read below about the love and care we put into our treats—only the best for your best friend and family member!

Ingredients: Our Pumpkin Peanut Butter treats are made with organic pumpkin, organic peanut butter, organic oats, organic turmeric, a touch of cinnamon, and a dusting of organic food-grade diatomaceous earth. (If you notice a whitish appearance to the treats, this is organic quinoa flour that we use to prevent the treats from sticking during the baking process. )

Benefits: Pumpkin aids with digestion and makes bowel movements easier. Turmeric may help with inflammation (it's been shown to do so in lab studies). Flax seeds are rich in omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, which may improve a dog's coat, immune system, and digestion. Cinnamon can aid digestion in those dogs that may be a little gassy. 😶‍🌫️
