I was so glad to get Quincy back to work . Jake and Monte put on a nice clinic at Happy J Ranch in Bayfield. It doesn't look like much from this point of view. But the feel I had with Quincy as he rated his cow and let me adjust him when needed was fantastic.

I had the great pleasure to stay overnight at Happy J Ranch in Bayfield in preparation for a reining and cow horse clinic on Saturday. Quincey was a super star rating the flag and the live cow .. He'd not been on either in 3 years so it was even more satisfying. Addison on the other hand was a pill, but she worked for me 90% of the time. There was a little bucking and arguing but i showed i could stick a horse and everyone cheered LOL. Both are my sole training so their successes and achievements made me happy.

nrcha,, that's a tuff deal for Shade Parkenson. his bridle rein broke in his two rein reining pattern. The horse is in his 6 year old year, and should be ridden in the Two Rein set up.. the Vaquero Way is supposed to be using the Bosalito primarily rather than the bit reins.. most riders these days use the bosalito and mecate' reins just as an adornment.. not for function.. I still think the Two Rein competitions should be judged partly by how they use the mecate/bosalito first. just me

What a great day I had yesterday with one of my riding customers. We'd been on the lookout for a companion b***o and got her bought at the Cortez Livestock auction. No one knew a thing about her, but I trusted what I'd intuited by spending some time in the pen with her before the sale. It took a little bit more than planned to get her bought but she's a Peach! I'm so glad to be a part of the process of introducing her to her new home last night and look forward to helping her new owners learn about the Special Ways of b***os..

Big day for Bandit. I worked him up from small to bigger saddles, today put my NRS Ranch Cutter on that I have. Bandit was a little froggy with the difference and weight but settled in nicely . First time he's had anyone on his back for 2 years. We're moving forward.

Bandit the mustang is making great progress. He's overcoming some less than pleasant history and I'm reinforcing some great work that was done with him a couple of years ago. Today was a western saddle, and fitting him with a soft leather sidepull

Bandit took the banging around of stirrup leathers without much incident - he worked up a good sweat lunging and learning better rollbacks and found peace w me just catching his breath. We had a good day.
