Did you know that Leptospirosis (Lepto) is a serious bacterial disease that can affect both dogs and people? The good news is that it is highly preventable with vaccination!
⚠️ How dogs can get Lepto:
🐀 Contact with urine from infected wildlife or rodents
💧 Drinking or playing in contaminated water
🌧️ Exposure to puddles, lakes, rivers, or wet environments
🚩 Signs to watch for:
• Fever
• Loss of appetite
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Increased thirst and urination
• Lethargy and weakness
• Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)
🏥 Prevention is key!
✅ Keep your dog up to date on their Lepto vaccine
✅ Avoid stagnant water when possible
✅ Control rodents around your home
✅ Practice good hygiene after outdoor activities
