Hello all! As many of you know, Dr. Darrel has sold the Corsica and Platte locations to Dr. Haley Hoien of East River Veterinary Clinic in Platte. Dr. Carol will still be practicing out of the Lake Andes clinic, but will no longer be servicing the Corsica clinic. Jourdan and Holly are still in Corsica, and Dr. Darrel will be here mostly every day to cover appointments. He will be slowly limiting his hours over the next 2.5 years as he makes his way to retirement. We are all excited for this new journey, and we hope to continue serving you and your animals! The phone number has not changed (for either Corsica or Lake Andes) so if you are needing and appointment or have any questions please call! We can no longer schedule appointments for Dr. Carol so if you are wanting to schedule with her, please call 605-487-7707.
As of today, 1/16/2024, this page will no longer be active. Please follow us on our new page, East River Veterinary Clinic - Corsica for updates.
Thank you and stay warm!

Hello everyone! We wanted to reach out to all of our clients in regards to Rabies this spring. We have had 2 positive cases of rabies in the last week. The skunks are waking up early from hibernation, and that is a cause for concern. We really want to stress how important it is that your pets stay current on their rabies vaccines. We are able to send in wild animals for testing at the Veterinary Science lab at SDSU. We do ask that if you are going to bring in an animal for testing do not injure the head. Rabies can only be tested through an intact brain and brain stem. There are protocols that should be followed when dealing with a possible rabies suspect when it comes to your pets. We have attached a link in the comments that will take you to the South Dakota Rabies Protocol for both pets and humans alike. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions!

Happy Spring!

As always, there will be a veterinarian on call for emergencies, and you can call our Platte location for assistance or questions.
We appreciate you all and hope you all stay safe and warm!
