🤎 Meet Smore 🤎

Smore isn’t asking for a wild and exciting life. In fact, we think she’s had enough excitement already.

Back in 2024, Smore and her siblings were found outside an apartment complex after falling from a balcony. Thankfully, that scary beginning brought her to safety—but 462 days later, this sweet girl is still waiting for the part of her story where she gets to go home.

Smore is what we lovingly call a “cat’s cat.” 🐱💕 She enjoys the company of other kitties, gets along well with her feline friends, and would be perfectly happy sharing a home with another laid-back cat who appreciates personal space and a good nap as much as she does.

Her love is a little softer and more subtle. She’s not looking to be the loudest personality in the room—she just wants a peaceful place to lounge, feel safe, and enjoy life at her own pace.

For 462 days, Smore has watched and waited. Maybe the person she’s been waiting for just hasn’t met her yet.

🧀 Meet Cheshire 🧀

Cheshire’s story started when he was just a tiny kitten on the TAMUCC campus. He, his siblings, and their mama were discovered hiding underneath a traffic barrier—and getting this little family to safety was no easy task!

Construction workers had to be called in to move the barrier, and they kindly gave the family a temporary safe haven in their work garage. When they could no longer keep them there, the little family moved into foster care, where the kittens eventually became affectionately known as “The Cheese Boys.” 🧀🐾

One by one, Cheshire watched his buddies find their forever homes. Now, he’s the last of his little group still waiting for someone to choose him. 🥺

Cheshire is a laid-back, incredibly sweet boy who can be a little shy when you first meet him—and considering his life started on a busy, noisy college campus, can you really blame him? Give him some time to feel comfortable, though, and suddenly you’ve got a chatterbox with the silliest personality on your hands. 💕

He’s waited long enough to see what this whole “forever home” thing is about. We’re hoping someone will meet this gentle boy and realize he’s exactly who they’ve been missing.

💕 Meet Ambrosa — our sweet retired momma with a little mischievous streak!

While Ambrosa was in foster care, she apparently decided life was getting a little too predictable. She snuck outside for a little adventure…and sometime later, her foster woke up to quite the surprise: Ambrosa had delivered four tiny kittens right in their bed! 😂🐾

Thankfully, those days are behind her and Ambrosa is officially retired from mom life. Now it’s her turn to be the one spoiled and taken care of!

Ambrosa is incredibly loving and curious with the silliest little personality. She loves seeing what’s going on around her, soaking up affection, and reminding everyone why we’ve enjoyed having her with us so much. 💗

But as much as we love our sweet girl, we know a shelter was never supposed to be her final destination. Ambrosa deserves a home of her own, a family to love, and plenty of new things to investigate—preferably without sneaking outside this time. 😉

Looking for a kitten who can go from FULL SPEED AHEAD to cuddle puddle in record time? Meet Sissy! 😂🐾
Sissy is an incredibly sweet little girl with plenty of kitten energy to spare. When it’s playtime, she plays like her LIFE depends on it. Running, chasing, pouncing, and keeping up with even the most active feline friends!
But eventually, even Sissy’s battery runs out. 🪫😂 Once the zoomies are over, you’ll find her curled up on a cat tree or snuggled alongside another kitty for a well-earned nap.
She gets along wonderfully with other playful cats and would be thrilled to have a feline friend in her forever home to play and eventually crash with. 💕

Some of our longtime followers might recognize a little something familiar about this pretty girl… and there’s a reason for that! 👀
Zoey originally came to The Cattery as a kitten alongside her siblings and fun fact: our permanent resident Logan is her brother! 🐱💕
Zoey was adopted and had a home of her own, but sadly, she recently found herself back with us through no fault of her own. Now this sweet girl is hoping someone will give her the second chance she deserves.
Zoey can be a little nervous, especially with new situations, but underneath those initial nerves is a kitty who really wants to be loved. Give her a little patience and reassurance, and she’ll happily soak up your affection. 🥹

She’s already had her world change once. This time, we’d love to see Zoey find the family who will make forever really mean forever. 💜

💚 Meet Giacomino. He came to us as a friendly stray, ready for a safe place and a family of his own. Unfortunately, we discovered that Giacomino is FeLV positive.

💚 FeLV, or Feline Leukemia Virus, is a virus that can weaken a cat’s immune system and make them more vulnerable to illness. It is spread between cats primarily through prolonged close contact, so FeLV-positive cats have some special considerations when it comes to housing and adoption. An FeLV diagnosis does not mean a cat cannot have a happy, loving life.

💚 Sadly, FeLV-positive cats still face enormous challenges in the sheltering world. Because they require separate housing, additional medical monitoring, and can be harder to place, some shelters still euthanize cats simply because they test positive.

💚 We don’t believe a positive test should decide whether a cat gets a chance. Giacomino has that chance here. We’ll care for him while we look for the right family who understands FeLV and will love him exactly as he is. If that family never comes, he still has a home, right here with us.

💚 That promise costs more. It means dedicating space and resources to cats who may stay with us much longer than others. Giacomino’s life is worth it. Fundraisers like our Fall Sweepstakes help us keep making that promise.
