When you take “working at the vet” a little too seriously… 👩‍⚕️🐶🩺

Our newest team member showed up dressed and ready for surgery—but we’re still waiting on those credentials. 😂

10/10 for enthusiasm.
10/10 for the outfit.
100/10 for cuteness. 🤍🐾

🩺🐾 Why does annual bloodwork matter?

Our pets can’t tell us when something feels off—and many health changes can begin before there are obvious symptoms. Routine bloodwork gives us a look at what’s happening on the inside and helps establish what’s normal for your pet.

Regular screening can help monitor things like kidney and liver function, blood sugar, blood cells, and other important health markers. Catching changes early can give us more options to keep your pet feeling their best. ❤️

Even when they look perfectly healthy on the outside, it’s worth checking what’s happening on the inside. 🐶🐱

📞 Contact Coronado Veterinary Hospital to schedule your pet’s wellness exam and ask whether bloodwork is recommended.

🐾🤍 Growing older deserves a little extra TLC.

As our pets enter their senior years, subtle changes can tell us a lot about how they’re feeling. Slowing down, sleeping more, changes in appetite, difficulty jumping or using stairs, or even changes in personality can all be worth mentioning at their next visit. 🩺

Regular wellness exams and routine screening can help identify age-related changes earlier and give us more options to keep senior pets feeling comfortable and enjoying the things they love. ❤️

Because getting older doesn’t mean slowing down on the love. 🐶🐱✨

📞 Contact Coronado Veterinary Hospital to schedule your senior pet’s wellness exam.

This little fluffball came in for a visit and had no problem making themselves right at home in our arms. 🩺🐶 There’s nothing quite like puppy cuddles to make a workday better!

We love getting to be a part of our patients’ lives from their very first visits through all the adventures ahead. ❤️

Welcome to the Coronado Veterinary Hospital family, little one! 🐾✨

🐾💙 Happy National Dog Day! 💙🐾

Today we’re celebrating the dogs who make life a whole lot better—whether they’re big, small, fluffy, wrinkly, goofy, energetic, or professional couch potatoes. 😂🐶

They’re our adventure buddies, protectors, best friends, and family. And here at Coronado Veterinary Hospital, we feel pretty lucky that caring for them is part of what we get to do every day. 🩺❤️

Give your pup an extra belly rub, treat, or walk today in honor of National Dog Day! 🦴🐾

And because we can never see too many dogs… drop a picture of your pup in the comments! 📸👇

🐱✨ Patient Spotlight! ✨🐱

Just look at those beautiful blue eyes! 💙 This sweet kitty came in for a visit and made sure to thoroughly inspect the exam room while they were here. 🔎🐾

We love seeing our feline patients feeling curious and comfortable enough to explore their surroundings—and, of course, pose for a few pictures along the way. 📸😻

Thanks for brightening our day, cutie! 💙

🌾🐾 Watch out for foxtails!

These tiny grass awns may not look like much, but their barbed shape allows them to work their way into a pet’s skin and body—and they don’t easily back out.

After walks, hikes, or time in grassy areas, give your pet a quick check, especially around the paws, ears, eyes, nose, and coat.

Keep an eye out for sudden sneezing, head shaking, squinting, licking or chewing at a paw, swelling, or a small draining wound.

If you think your pet may have picked up a foxtail, give Coronado Veterinary Hospital a call. The sooner it’s found, the easier it may be to remove. 🩺❤️
