Class #1

First night of class. Hard to tell who was/is reactive. The handlers’ body language and energy have a lot to do with the signals the dogs pick up.

Casper Police Department Introduces Robotic K9 Unit, Loses Dog During First Demonstration.
CASPER, Wyo. - The Casper Police Department's newest robotic K9 unit is missing after running away during its first public demonstration Friday afternoon. The four-legged robot was introduced as part of a pilot program designed to assist officers in situations considered too dangerous for traditional police dogs.
The demonstration went according to plan until an officer instructed the robot to run approximately 50 feet, stop and return. It completed the first instruction. Police said the robotic dog continued north at approximately 18 mph and stopped responding to commands shortly afterward.
“We're confident it's functioning exactly as designed,” department spokesman Steve Keller said. “Unfortunately, we aren't entirely sure where it's functioning.” The department tracked the robot for approximately 37 miles before its signal disappeared outside Glenrock.
Authorities are asking residents not to approach the machine if they encounter it and instead contact law enforcement. Officials emphasized that the robot is not considered dangerous. Its final recorded command was “sit.”

Moose is a puppy who barks at unfamiliar people but also has a genuine concern when it comes to males.

Increasing opportunity for a dog to explore and use their nose is a great start to reducing some of the pent up energy and anxiety they may have stored.

PUPDATE ON MINNIE:

We have completed 3 sessions. Initially just getting a leash on Minnie was a wild process of her biting, rolling and jumping. Then came the process of teaching her to walk nicely and not pull. Having a figure 8 over her nose has worked quite nicely.

Take a look at her focus on my client and the loose leash. The homework has definitely been done and the bond between pup and handler has strengthened! 🙌🏻 Putting in the work and following my advice has gotten them to this level. Remember, she’s barely 6 months old. Stay tuned for more updates.

When your Mama puts you in a down stay and travels to another state before recalling you! 😂

But seriously, tell me a 10 year old reactive dog can’t be trained and then hold Cooper’s 🍺 while he shows you otherwise.

Serious behavioral issues require serious solutions.

Dog bites, aggression between dogs living in the same household, redirected aggression toward handlers, and other significant behavioral concerns are not issues that can be safely or effectively resolved during a 15 to 30-minute complimentary consultation.

A consultation is a starting point, not a training session. Its purpose is to give you an opportunity to explain the challenges you’re experiencing, provide relevant background information, and allow a professional trainer to assess the situation and recommend an appropriate course of action. You wouldn’t call a doctor, describe a series of concerning symptoms, and expect to diagnose and treat yourself based on a brief phone conversation.

There is a significant difference between understanding what needs to change and knowing how to safely and effectively implement those changes.

Professional dog training involves far more than simply telling someone what to do. Timing, handling skills, consistency, body language, and the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to your dog’s behavior all play a critical role.

If you’re reaching out because you’re genuinely concerned about your dog’s behavior, the next step is to invest in the professional guidance necessary to address it.

Your dog’s behavior deserves more than a quick conversation. And your family’s safety deserves more than guesswork.
