Imagine being a small business owner… one who will go above and beyond for anyone. One who takes people at their word when they say payment will be made, so you continue showing up and cleaning yards because you trust them. Then the payment never comes. And it keeps happening over and over again.
Guess what that does to a small business?
A business that survives solely off this income. A business that put all of its eggs into one basket believing hard work, reliability, and loyalty would be enough to make it. We CAN make it — but only if customers actually pay their invoices.
I’ve been understanding for way too long and honestly it’s gotten us nowhere. I hate having to continue making posts like this, but the amount of unpaid balances has gotten completely out of control.
What really blows my mind is people acting like we’re the bad guys for expecting payment for services that were already completed. In reality, refusing to pay is what hurts SMALL businesses like ours.
We work hard. We show up. We communicate. We do our part. All we ask is that customers do theirs too.
