Did we say 24 and 25? We meant to say - welcome kittens 26, 27, and 28!

The kitten on the right is hissing at me which is always the funniest thing ever. Big mistake. Huge. Because we all know HISSES GET KISSES!

These three are much healthier and in much better shape. They are about a week ahead in age, and do not appear to be suffering from the same, um…affliction…as the others (I was told to stop talking about p**p) 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Picture this. You, your friends, cats, and freshly roasted coffee served up RIGHT HERE! You'll have to imagine the cabinets and countertop - ha ha - but the takeaway here is INSIDE FRAMING IS HAPPENING AND WE HAVE THE BEGINNINGS OF A COFFEE COUNTER!

Woo hoo! Thank you all so much for being as excited as we are! As promised, we’ll be posting more often now that things are proceeding (relatively) quickly.

To answer the most common questions:

1. We don’t have an opening date yet but are hopeful it will be close to the end of this year.
2. Cafe hours will TBD, but Monday - Saturday and likely 10-8.
3. Yes, there will be cats (just kidding - that wasn’t really a question).
4. We are located on Catawba Ave in Cornelius - 20910 Catawba, to be specific.

And here’s a little walkthrough I took this morning - lots of changes!!!

So, we are trying to be super sophisticated and all cool-like, but....

LOOK WHAT JUST WENT UP!!!! This is happening. This is really happening!!!

Now that things are starting to speed up, we'll be posting much more so you can watch the cafe interior taking shape. Our website is under construction and should be live this week.

We love our Davidson College students! Students volunteered their time on Sunday morning to help with some pre-landscaping work, cutting down trees, and digging up the areas for planting. We are so grateful for their hard work and can't wait to be your cuddle a cat mental health break when it's time for finals!

Sigh. Crowdsourcing once again - Does anyone know of an HVAC company that might be willing to donate a new heat pump?

(Also - for all of you cat-allergic people, you CAN come to the cat cafe and breath non-cat air, thanks to one of a bazillion NC regulations, so...win/win?)

So many hands - so much help - demo day is in full swing! 20910 Catawba in Cornelius….the cat cafe built by the community. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😻😻😻😻😻😻

REMINDER!
Volunteers needed for demo day tomorrow, 6/27, at 9am.

We would like to invite anyone over the age of 18 to help with demolition this Saturday, June 27, beginning at 9:00 AM. Adult friends who need to get rid of their stress are also invited. Please wear closed toed shoes, and long sleeves and bring what you are comfortable swinging. We will have some tools on hand and we will provide safety goggles, masks, water, Gatorade, and snacks for all volunteers.

Our goal for Saturday is to remove the identified walls, flooring, moulding, and plumbing fixtures. We truly appreciate everyone who has volunteered their time to help us get this far, and we hope to see you there. Please email us at [email protected] so we can get an estimated headcount.
