We are moving along! We are officially in the queue for Plan Review for a commercial project and should have the electric, plumbing, and HVAC plans ready for submittal by Friday. Then we can begin to get bids for the actual work. Below are some pictures of our meeting today as we reviewed the current plan set and some potential finishes for the cafe!

We are about halfway through to our fundraising goal for the cat cafe' - things slowed down a bit as we pivoted to focus on a pretty big cat community issue in Davidson (read more ). Some of the cats in this community are friendly but with not even fosters, they have to be returned to a pretty tough situation. It just brings home to us even more how much this cat cafe is needed.

Thank you to everyone for your generosity so far - you are helping making make this vital community rescue center a reality!

What do you do when your mom never comes home?

Meet Lucy. Lucy is 11 years old (or she will be in two days). She is a domestic long-haired calico weight about 10 pounds.

Lucy has lived indoors all her life - she is fairly chill and loves laps, pets, and chin scritches.

Sadly, her mom has been sick for quite some time and recently passed away on February 24th (https://www.echovita.com/us/obituaries/nc/huntersville/peggy-way-21151866 ), and Lucy was left without a home or her person. She is currently being boarded.

Take a minute and imagine what that must be like - and help us help Lucy with a new forever home. She'll do best as an only kitty. She is up to date on all her vaccinations. Please message us for more information.

Met with our team this morning to go over the design of the cafe and brainstorm signature coffee names. What do you think?

A. Catnap Roast :For people who say “just one more foster” and haven’t slept since 2022.

B. Feral Fuel: Strong enough to trap at 10pm and still make a 7am meeting.

C. Zoomies Dark Roast: Side effects may include running full speed through your house at 3am.

D. Single Origin, Multiple Personalities: Like every cat we’ve ever met.

E. Whisker Wake-Up: Better than an alarm. Worse than a kitten climbing your face.

We are officially in our 6-week fundraising push.

It’s a little intense. There are spreadsheets. There is caffeine. There may also be snacks that were supposed to last all week and did not.

We’re working to raise the funds to open Cat About Town, and this donor wall is one of the most meaningful parts of the café. The photo here is just an illustration of what we’re hoping to create, but it will recognize the founding supporters who helped bring this space to life.

If you’d like to be included on the wall, recognition begins at $1,500 and above, and we still have a few special naming opportunities available. It’s a beautiful way to honor a beloved pet, a family member, or your most iconic foster fail.

But truly, every donation matters. Gifts of any size move us closer to opening and saving more cats. The wall is just one piece of the story. The real impact is what this community makes possible.

If you’ve ever trapped with us late at night, fostered kittens, adopted from us, or just followed along while insisting you do not need another cat… this is your moment.

Every year, cats fall through the cracks—not because people don’t care, but because there isn’t a space designed to turn caring into action.

We’re building a cat café to change that—a place where rescue, community, and sustainability come together, one cup of coffee, one safe landing, and one adoption at a time.

Our future café is a historic home that requires thoughtful renovation and updates to meet state regulations for cat cafés. Much of this work must be completed before we can open our doors.

Our goal is to welcome the community within the next six months. The funds raised now directly support the renovations needed to open responsibly and on schedule.
