That’s a wrap on our 2026 Free Service Animal Eye Exam Event! 🐾💙
Each year, in the month of May, Dr. Huey proudly partners with the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) to provide complimentary eye examinations for service animals who dedicate their lives to helping others.
This year, we were honored to meet an incredible group of working dogs, including several Search and Recovery Dogs from the Tennessee Task Force. Their courage, dedication, and lifesaving work serve as a powerful reminder of the many ways service animals impact our communities every day.
Service animals provide invaluable assistance in countless roles, including guide dogs for the visually impaired, hearing assistance dogs, mobility support dogs, medical alert and response dogs, psychiatric service dogs, autism support dogs, and search and recovery dogs. Each one plays a unique role in helping their handler live more safely, independently, and confidently.
We are continually inspired by the bond between these remarkable animals and the people they serve.
A heartfelt thank you to all the service animal teams who participated this year. We look forward to welcoming you back next year and encourage all eligible service animals to take advantage of this wonderful program that Dr. Huey generously provides annually through his partnership with ACVO.
To every service animal and handler we had the privilege of meeting this year—thank you for your service, your partnership, and the difference you make in the lives of others every day. 🐕🦺
