Some days in veterinary medicine are filled with puppy kisses and wagging tails. Other days, they are about performing critical, life-saving procedures when every second counts.

Today was one of those days.

This sweet puppy arrived in critical condition and urgently needed a blood transfusion. Without hesitation, Dr. Black’s own dog, Dexter, stepped up to become a hero and donated blood to help save a life.

Because of Dexter’s donation and the incredible efforts of our veterinary team, this puppy is now standing, eating, and on the road to recovery.

We are so grateful to work alongside a team that is dedicated to doing whatever it takes for our patients. And today, we’re especially thankful for Dexter—the goodest boy and a true lifesaver. ❤️🐾
