Our 6th birth of our 2026 kidding season was First Freshener Stomping C SS “Meso” Sweets x Hidden Hills On The Moon. Meso kidded on her actual due date on August 8th at 5:30pm, and although I thought she was a couple days out still, I should have been keeping a closer eye that day. All ended well, and she kidded effortlessly with twin buck and doe kids. The buckling is so handsome, chocolate moonspooted, with the most stunning top line, wide level body, has bkue eyes, and comes from some of the most exceptional milk lines on both his dam and sire sides, the doeling is the tiniest baby that’s ever been born on our farm, a little chocolate roan girl, who of course is retained, but it didn’t matter what she came out looking like, if there was a doeling, it was going to be MINE! This prodigy is the result of when the finest east coast herds meet the finest west coast herds. And due to the fact that both Mesos Dam (GCH Denbow Acres Meso Pretty VEEE91) and her Sire (Winning Streak EB Simon Says +*B VEE90) both passed away in 2025, I am doing to best to keep these gorgeous lines going, but only if bred to other exceptional lines. We highly contemplated keeping her buckling and shoot I have been known to change my mind but for now he is available and truly checks all the boxes - heavy milk lines, champion pedigrees, wide level body, chocolate moon spotted, blue eyed boy! Scrumptious! Part 2 - the Dahlia Raised Bed Garden - new to the homestead in 2026, Kyle built this space for me after I invested into some of the best dahlia tubers I could find. This is where our original breeding pen / kidding area sat for many many years and now breathes a different form of new life. In the form of the most beautiful flowers. Truly, I am just blown away by the beauty in this space, and so many varieties are yet to bloom. My favorites so far have been the Peaches N Cream and Genova, but with so many varieties yet to bloom I’m sure that is going to change. There are plans to mulch deep and overwinter the dahlias here each winter. Occasionally digging up the tubers to split for more plants. Who knows, maybe we can offer dahlia plants at the farmstand sometime in the future. But for now, you can enjoy these beauties weekly in our bouquets available at our farmstand and via custom order (just send me a DM) 🥰🌸❤️

Part 11 - Commissioned bouquet orders have been coming in a lot more lately and I have been loving every minute of designing these special day custom arrangements, I really go all out on these and put so much love, time, and thought into each design. Sometimes deconstructing the entire thing and reassembling it if it’s just not hitting the vibe.. it’s just gotta be perfect. Last weekend we had some really pretty arrangements out at the stand and had a special “Gotcha Day” Adoption Day Anniversary arrangement. The colors in this one make me swoon, I’m a sucker for a pink floral palette! We also harvested more green beans, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and a couple summer squash for the stand - which our customers have been loving too. One thing we hope to increase more of in the coming seasons is having more fruits and veggies available, so we will be making hard cuts to crops that undersell at the stand and focusing on crops that our customers are loving. We look forward to this winter where we can really go hard on the brassicas, leafy greens, root veggies, and cold hardy perennial flowers.

Flow Hive Install Day! It had been longer than I’d like to admit, since I inspected the beehive, and that’s where I chuckle. Because that’s just farm life for you in a nutshell. I get asked how I have time to do it all, and the answer is simply - I don’t… but I sure as hell try… something’s I fail at while others I hit my stride. This summer has been full of ups and downs and I’ll be the first to admit that certain livestock (like bees in particular) can be such a self-sustaining animal at times that it can be easy to accidentally allow days to turn into weeks, which turn into months. The last time I had inspected our hives, I noticed zero brood activity in one of the hives - a major indicator that my queen had died or left the hive. Either way, I didn’t want that hive to slowly die off, so I joined the two together. (Filmed live for my IG Subscribers). After maybe 3-4 weeks, I realized how long it had been since I checked them and decided I better get in there before it was too late. I was happy to see the hive is happy and healthy and it would appear that they not only acclimated well to eachother, the queenless hive didn’t kill my queen (as they can do sometimes when conjoining two hives), and that they are actually packing nectar into the hive at a fast rate. I couldn’t even lift the top box to Inspect the bottom box because it was so full of honey. Probably at least 40-50 lbs alone in that one box. I’ll have to wait until I can get some help from my husband to lift the boxes to do a full inspection but I was just glad I was able to get the FlowHive Super on so they can start packing honey in there and hopefully not run out of brood space in the boxes below. Sometimes we do have to add a 3rd brood box on to support the size of our hives. I of course immediately installed our anti-robbing screen as robber bees and other predators are in high numbers searching for a hive to collapse this time of year. It only took a matter of seconds before the bees were already exploring their new box. Fun fact- we were original crowd funding supporters of the Flow® Hive invention back in 2015, this is the original Flow Hive Super, which is still going strong!

Part 10 - Last weekend was our biggest dahlia harvest yet along with so many other stunning flowers from the garden. I made some absolutely beautiful arrangements for the farmstand and I was also commissioned to make a special 100th Birthday bouquet, I was so honored to put this one together! Did I mention how much I love doing custom orders? They always get my best flowers and I generally overstuff the arrangements. What would cosf $50 for a custom arrangement with us would cost upwards of $100 or more at a florist. As the only micro flower farm in Copperopolis, we really try to be as affordable as possible, it’s something we pride ourselves in and we hope you notice the difference of truly fresh cut organically grown flowers. I was also so excited to get more veggies out to the stand last weekend which included fresh picked green beans, tomatoes, herbs, & squash. I cannot tell you how much we love being a one stop shop for bread, eggs (when they don’t sell out super fast), organically grown flowers, truly clean bath and body care, sweet healthy treats, organically grown produce, and more! If we could legally sell our milk, cheese, pickles and more - we would, but the state of California and Calaveras County Health Dept has said No on a number of things and we have no other interest other than to comply. We see what a blessing it is to be able to have our farm stand right on our farm and al through it sucks that we can’t sell everything we produce on our farm, we just have zero interest in breaking rules. Thank you to everyone who has continued to support us who some of the recents changes with our sourdough baked goods. We hope our stand offerings only continue to grow but only in a way that continues to keep us in good graces. Our 5th kidding of the season was The Urban ladybug Farm Cacao x Hidden Hills A Perfect Storm, Cacao kidded completely unassisted at 1:30am on August 5th, 2026. A fun fact about cacao is that she’s The 3rd generation from this linage that was born on our farm. We bought her grand-dam Mazzeltov Farms Dolly in 2019, she kidded the first time in 2020 with Miss Moo, who then kidded her 3rd time with twins Cacao and Mocha in 2024, now Cacao kidding for her second time in 2026, making this the 4th generation of this linage here on the farm. Cacaos kidding was the first of the season that really threw me for a loop. I didn’t get to see her kid the first time last year so I’m unaware of her quirks and the signs of when she’s in pre-labor so I thought she was in pre-labor basically all day and was going to give birth in the evening. But 10pm rolls around and no babies had hit the ground yet, but I was really to hit the hay.. and I had to be up within a couple hours anyways to feed the bottle babies so I knew I would be able to check on her then. Well, of course she decided to kid right before I came outside and I was shocked to see 4 kids sitting in her house with her. Unfortunately, one precious little doeling had passed away before I got there but she had 3 other perfectly healthy kiddos for a total of 3 doelings (1 DOA) & 1 buckling. Although their sire is Gold, he actually only carries the black coat gene, so because both Dam & Sire carry the same black coat gene, they gave us 3 beautiful black and white kiddos. All 3 kids and Cacao will be available to new farms this fall, we would prefer to keep Dam and at least 1 kid together. Part 1 - We’ve been working especially hard the last couple of years getting our farm in shape for farm events & tours. We deconstructed animal pens, rebuilt new pens, completely renovated our garden space and moved it to a lower section of the property, we split our property in half and put up cross fencing to keep the goats on the front side and the poultry on the back. We just started dipping our toes into agri-tourism events with baby animal days and baby goat yoga - which were so fun in 2025, and we are so happy to have opened up to homeschool co-ops this spring, summer, and fall. We have something fun planned on the farm this fall, finally we are excited to share we will be opening up for private farm tours which include a full tour through our entire property, gardens, and animal pens, ending with a u-pick for flowers and a special tasting table with all our farm goods. More on all of that soon! ❤️

Part 9 - last weekends harvest, the dahlias are just starting to take off and I made some of the prettiest bouquets all season! Mostly everything sold besides a few sunflower bunches that we gave away for free on Monday 🌻 We know times are so tough right now for most families (ours including), and flowers are a luxury not alot of homes can work into their budget each week, so it’s nice sometimes to know you are brightening someone’s day who may not otherwise be able to enjoy it. ❤️
