I have to give a huge shout-out to MetroVac!
Recently, I was torn between purchasing the K-9 II and the MetroVac Master Blaster. After asking around in this group and weighing everyone’s opinions, the Blaster went on sale on Amazon for $150 off ($500 total). Between the built-in wheels and the stellar 5-year comprehensive warranty (compared to K-9's 90-day parts / 2-year motor warranty), I jumped on it and grabbed an extended warranty as well.
Once it arrived, I loved how quickly it blew out coats, but two big issues came up right away:
The High-Pitched Screech: When turned all the way up, it let out a piercing train-whistle sound.
The Flying Nozzle Hazard: The rubber nozzle and hose connector would suddenly launch off the hose mid-blast and fly toward whatever animal was on my table. Because the connector and nozzle are heavy, solid rubber, having them launch at high speed was completely unsafe. I tried holding the end in place, but the hose gets too hot to grip comfortably, and even a hose clamp and duct tape couldn't keep it secured.
I was ready to return it and switch to the K-9 II. Before packing it up, though, I reached out directly to MetroVac customer service to ask if this was a known defect or if I had accidentally bought a counterfeit unit, since they don't sell directly on Amazon.
Their customer service was phenomenal. They were genuinely concerned and horrified by the nozzle issue. After I sent over my proof of purchase so they could check the authorized seller details, they immediately arranged to send me a complete replacement hose and attachment setup—completely free of charge!
It is rare to see a company stand behind their equipment so quickly and make things right without any hassle. Huge kudos to the MetroVac team!
I would also like to mention, this thing is less than a month old, I dislike how big it is, it takes up a ton of space and the hose is 10 feet long. Those are my other complaints about it. Lol!
