Griner Family Sugar Bush

Griner Family Sugar Bush Griner Family Sugar Bush invites you to experience our family tradition of producing maple syrup that has spanned six generations.

The driving force behind our current operation is fourth generation family member Scott Griner and his wife Jennifer. They are joined by third generation members Roger Griner and Ann Griner commonly referred to as “Dad” and “Cousin Ann”. Other family members who assist in keeping things in order include Linda Griner Bower, her husband George, daughters Alexandria and Kortney plus Mark Griner, his

wife Ruth and son Boyd Griner. We also have numerous family and friends that have helped along the way and appreciate all their support.

New record! 800 gallons of syrup. Scott, Jennifer and their helpers have been very busy. I heard a story that some night Scott was up as late as five or 6 AM trying to get all the boiling done. I gotta wonder what some of the earlier generations would think.

ALL 2020 SUGAR BUSH EVENTS CANCELLED!

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic Griner Family Sugar Bush has cancelled all events scheduled for Spring 2020. This includes but is not limited to the Michigan Maple Weekend Open House, our traditional Pancake Day with friends and family and Silly Aunts gathering.

Please share this cancellation message as needed - if you know someone that was planning to attend one of these events and they are not on Facebook take a minute to call them and let them know.

On a more positive note the Maple Trees have been delivering a good supply of sap; our crew is currently healthy and working full time to produce the same syrup that has long been a family tradition.

If you are in need of syrup please stop by and visit either Copemish Family Market or Honor Family Market. Both of these locations have been our long time retail outlets and have our syrup in stock. Don't forget to visit the meat case and get some fresh link or bulk pork sausage to go with your meal!

Thank you to everyone for your support and understanding during this time.

Sad to hear of the fire last night at one of our longtime customers Dublin General Store. Most news reports are describing the building as a total loss. We are glad that no one was injured and our thoughts go out to the owners and employees. Grandpa Bernie got us started with this one so you know they’ve been around for a while. Hoping for a swift recovery as this is a great place that many depend on.

Please join me in welcoming Patrick Fitzgerald as a contributor to our page. Pat went to kindergarten with Scott and survived sleeping on the wood piles during all night sap boils in the early 80's. Thanks Pat for all your help with making syrup, building improvements and everything else. Looking forward to your posts!
