This track did not go easy. It would’ve went easy if I would’ve just listened to the dog before we even started tracking. He was enthusiastic and pulling right towards the deer before we even started. We were walking parallel to the known line of the deer in order to get to where the shot was taken from. Knowing that we would be going back to that other direction but offset probably 100 yards. It’s usually nice to be able to start from the start. And that’s what we were going for.

At one point, I think the dog was yards away from this deer. And of course I didn’t think it was right so I pulled him off.

Every time I doubt this little dog, Im reminded that he is smarter than I am.

Blaze is back in the game! And a first deer to boot!

Less than ideal entry, but enough angle through the shoulder to get into the good stuff. The deer made a 90° and blaze had that pegged in all of 30 seconds. Dude went from tracking to using his eyes and I knew we had it before he touched his nose to the target. Congratulations on your buck sir! It’s a fine deer 😎

Great weekend to be in the woods, and even better tracking. Nice and cool, gloomy, wet. Perfect conditions for these dogs to excel. With over 50 deer recovered, Blaze is here to help you. And if he can’t. There’s more trackers able and willing.

Don’t forget about the TRAKR app. Invaluable resource to located a dog for your missing deer or bear.

This little black dog is a real pain when he doesn’t get to track deer. And deer tracking season is here. So, help me out and get this guy on a track this weekend please 😂
He needs exercise and I need a calm pooch lol.

Good luck out there guys and gals.

The new tracker contract list it out! These teams are all hard at work and getting training and practice in for the upcoming season 😎
In the event you find yourself with a wounded deer or bear, and you need assistance… Reach out to any one of these teams.

Another great way to secure a tracker is to download the TRAKR app and make a request.

As you can see below, there are a limited amount of us. So the closer we get to the peak of the rut, the harder it will be to secure a team. This can be frustrating but we all do our best to get to each and everyone of you. Most of us do have jobs and families outside of the hunting and tracking community too. But we all do what we can.

With bear season around the corner and archery in its shadows, get out there and make it happen! Good luck and be safe.

East central MN mostly.

Merry Christmas everybody! Season is just about to the end here for us. Unless one of the cheese heads call that is.

Hope everyone is enjoying family over the holidays and transitioning into some of the other outdoors addictions! 🧊 🎣

No deer on a tailgate on this one. But the little black dog showed us at least where the deer spent some time 800ish yards away from the shot location.

Still fun to get out, and the hunter seemed to feel better knowing that this deer is likely still on the hoof.

As deer trackers. We don’t always find them. And that might not be the dogs fault. Sometimes they’re just not dead. This particular buck was eye sight tracked for 500. And then blaze ran it another 400 yards or so. Jumped the buck out of its bed. Ran it 200 more. And called it.

Yeah yeah we know. It wasn’t a good shot. Accidents happen. You’re not perfect either.

But the take away here is that if you’ve had a dog come out, didn’t recover the animal, and you later find out of it living by either seeing it, a trail cam photo, or the neighbor killing it. Let your tracker know. We want to hear the end of the story too. And we like to know why we couldn’t recover your animal.

We call it Proof of Life. I’ll bet I’ve got no less than 5 proof of life’s this week. And I appreciate every single one of them.

Say on it, keep hunting. And good luck!

If you need a tracker, Minnesota Tracking Dogs and TRAKR is here to help. Just remember. It’s busy and not everyone will secure a tracking dog.
