I know I’ve been absent for sometime and there is a reason for that. But it’s both in depth and personal.

Sadly, I am needing to find homes for the animals. This was not a decision made overnight nor made with any sort of ease. This has been a long, very hard difficult road.

I have been able to place all of my animals in sanctuaries and or rescues with the exception of a couple that have gone to private homes. And as much as I have not wanted to post any of this, it gives some understanding of why I’ve been absent

I have 12 pigs that need forever, loving homes. I have reached out to multiple rescues, and I’m still waiting to hear back, but in the meantime, I’m hoping that I might be able to find a soft landing for the remaining Pigs that I have.

Let me be extremely clear, they are not just going to be adopted to just any home!!!! There will be references required, both personal and from your veterinarian . As well as a home check will be required.

This has not been an easy couple of years. Not in anyway. I will not go into details publicly about why this decision has been made. However, if you are interested in adopting any of my sweet Pigs, please send me a private message and we can discuss things further

None of my pigs are by themselves, meaning they will either be adopted in pairs and or I have 2 “sets” if you will that are 3 together. THEY ARE ALL BONDED AND I WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEPARATE WHO IS TOGETHER. So please do not ask. I am willing to travel within reason to ensure a great home

Again, if you’re interested in adopting, please send me a private message

Thank you,
Nikki

🚨UREGENT HELP NEEDED FOR RESCUE 🚨

Hi friends. Please consider helping this wonderful rescue. She’s a very dear friend and truly gives these animals the very best care and she really needs our help. I’ll post an update as soon as there is one. He had surgery today ❤️

💚 Please send all your love and good wishes to Toby today. Our brave calf is undergoing surgery to remove his infected umbilical stump under general anesthesia this morning. He’s been such a fighter since birth — and today’s procedure is a big step toward giving him the healthy, pain-free life he deserves.

Bull calves like Toby don’t often get a second chance. Because of their gender, they’re rarely kept or valued on most farms. But Toby got lucky — we found him, and now he has a real shot at a long, happy life filled with care and compassion.

We’re still fundraising to cover his surgery and recovery, which is estimated at around $2,000. Every dollar truly helps, and sharing this post is another powerful way to support Toby’s journey.

Thank you to everyone who’s already donated, shared, or sent love his way — we couldn’t do this without you.

🚨Urgent Fundraiser: Help Doris and Her Baby Boy Toby🚨

Meet Doris and her sweet calf, Toby. We first learned about Doris back in March while searching for a special friend for Henry. We trusted that the right cow would come along at the right time—and she did. Two weeks ago, Doris gave birth to a beautiful but very large bull calf, weighing nearly 135 pounds.

From the moment he arrived, Toby faced some serious challenges. He was born with neurological issues and contracted ligaments in his front legs. Just days later, he developed an umbilical infection that UC Davis has been closely monitoring. Unfortunately, the infection has since spread to his joints, and he’s also battling pneumonia. This little guy clearly needs every bit of love and care we can give him.

Toby is scheduled for surgery this Wednesday to remove the infected umbilical stump. We haven’t held any fundraisers this year and have been relying on last year’s donations and personal funds—but we’ve now reached a point where we need your help.

Every donation goes directly to Toby’s care and is tax-deductible. If you’d like a donation letter, I’ll be happy to email one to you. Please help Toby heal and grow into the strong, happy boy he deserves to be.

Hi friends. Help needed for Moon

Moon is a special needs piggy who suffers from seizures. He has been on anti-seizure meds for years now but because of this he has to have a yearly visit to his vet. That appt is tomorrow, Friday 1-17-25.

With Danny’s unexpected emergency last week costing almost $800 and the day to day of making sure all the animals have what they need I desperately need help to cover Moons appt tomorrow. His visit usual runs between $400-$500 with the visit, labs, and meds. Would be very appreciative if you’d be able to help.

JUNE BUG THEN AND NOW! 🥰

Hard to believe this is the same sweet piggy but it is. June Bug arrived in July of 2020 after animal control was contacted and the owner had to find her a new place to live.
I was sent photos and knew she needed us.
June Bug was extremely obese and suffered from being “fat blind” meaning that due to being overweight and the skin basically covering her eyes, she hadn’t seen her world in years. 😔

After proper nutrition exercise and a lot of trusting she was now in a safe home. She started to slowly loose the weight. I’ll never forget the first day she flopped over for a belly rub 🥰🥰 that was a good day.

June bug now shares space with George and enjoys life so much. I can’t hardly believe she’s the same girl that arrived all those years back!

I feel like this year has been one of the absolute worst for me. Both personally and with the rescue. I also feel that my posts ( not stories ) are always bad and for that, I’m sorry because this one is no different.

Friday morning I lost my sweet little Licorice. It was both unexpected and traumatic and all the things in between. She’s only been here for a couple years and was incredibly leary of people when she first arrived. But over the last year has settled in and would even let me pet her and by pet I mean let me scratch her back ☺️ I actually felt very special that she would allow this. She and Tatie became quite the pair and were the perfect size for one another. I know he feels her loss As does Mama. Licorice lived with Mama, Spanky ( who we said goodbye to earlier in the year ) Pinky and Boots. I feel so bad for Mama that she’s lost both her goat friends. Although not alone I know she misses Spanky who was her son and now Licorice.

If I’m being completely honest this year can just f**k right off ( apologies for the F bomb, well kind of ) but truly. I can’t even seem to catch my breath anymore.

I do all I can, more than most any of you know, to take care of these animals. To provide them with all I can and sometimes no matter the best efforts it doesn’t make a difference

I try to put a smile on my face, not cry, not get frustrated, mad, insert whatever but the truth is all of these emotions and whatever else you can think of hit me daily. Always amplified when something happens. I’m hopeful that next year will be better but truthfully that hope seems to dim by the minute.

RIP sweet girl and I’m so very sorry

To say this year has been hard would be an understatement.
Not since 2020 have we said goodbye to so many animals…and if I’m being completely honest, I feel numb most days. Aside from life just kicking me while I’m down, rescue life adds so much more of a kick. 😔

3 weeks ago this past Monday Barnabus started coughing. And I mean like a deep awful cough. It literally came out of nowhere. He was coughing up foam and it persisted throughout the entire night. I felt so incredibly bad for him.

After X-rays, an echocardiogram ( ultrasound of his heart ) and labs we were given the devastating news that he’s in heart failure 💔💔💔 Yesterday he was such a good boy as we placed a Holter monitor on him for 24 hours. A Holter monitor is basically a running EKG and will let us know if he’s having any arrhythmias.

So what’s next??? We immediately started him on medication 3 weeks ago and added some after he had his echocardiogram. Unfortunately, we have to do our best to keep him from running too much and being too active 😔 Don’t mistake this, he’s still going outside with me when I’m feeding and loves being outside, I just have to make sure he’s not overdoing it. The complete s**t part of this..the part that’s not fair. His doc says maybe 6-9 months that we have left with him. Of course I’m hoping he’s wrong but the truth is his heart isn’t good and the reality is our time is limited.

He only just turned 9 and although that’s technically a senior age for a dog his size I most certainly thought we’d have him another 2-4 years easy but I guess our sweet Deja needed him sooner than later ❤️

He’s not a hug and snuggle kind of dog but he definitely loves to be loved in his own way. And that’s just what we’ll be giving him until he and Deja are back together again.

Our piggies eat better than most people ☺️along with their breakfast and dinners that consist of veggies, spring mis lettuce and pig pellets they get hay for the day. The weekly cost for the veggies runs about $300. We’re home to 18 pigs. We most
certainly could use the donations to cover their food. If you’d like to donate please consider us as your rescue to help. Link is in our bio
