“Have you ever gone from having senior dogs and think getting a puppy is a good idea? Then you get the puppy and realize you completely blocked out the puppy phase from memory and you were in fact not prepared for a puppy? And then also realized that your seniors were only amazing because of the time you spent training them as a puppy?

WELL, meet Baldur, who has every single “bad” dachshund behavior quality in the most adorable package that made us question our life choices. We knew right away that we needed help to get him to be a truly “good boy” and to save his mom’s (who works from home) sanity.

Baldur has participated in both group classes, day training program, as well as weekly daycare for socialization. We knew we couldn’t do it just on our own, so we turned to Arfordable and they have helped him and us, so much! He has improved on some of his bullying at home of the other pet, he is sooo much better at walking appropriately, and is all around a more enjoyable puppy.

We can’t recommend EVERYONE at Arfordable enough, they really go above and beyond with their training ensuring real life scenarios are tested and consider the problems you’re seeing and want to work on, not just a set in stone training program. They also were willing to work with Baldur AND the senior pups for behavioral concerns. Arfordable has truly made the puppy to adolescence experience bearable and we wouldn’t have survived without them!”

Beau is STILL waiting for a foster or adoptive home! He needs a little growth removed from his neck/shoulder, but we need a foster in place to do that.

Beau needs a home with a fenced yard, no kids, and people who understand resource guarding and will follow his trainers' instructions to prevent a recurrence.

Not all outings are created equal. The goal isn’t just to take your dog somewhere... it’s to find the right environment.

The best locations offer plenty of space, opportunities to sniff and explore, and just the right amount of activity to provide exposure without overwhelming your dog. When we strike that balance, dogs can learn, decompress, build confidence, and actually enjoy the experience.

These two pups had a blast on their outing to Northeast Lakeview College! Between the walking trails, open campus spaces, and beautiful lake access, it’s one of our favorite local spots for enrichment and training. We’re fortunate to have such a welcoming location right down the road.

Remember: confidence grows when dogs are given the chance to safely experience the world at their own pace. 🌎🐕
