A WAGGING TAIL DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN A HAPPY DOG.

A wagging tail can mean a LOT of things—happiness, excitement, frustration, uncertainty, or high arousal. You have to look at the speed of the wag, tail position, body posture, facial expression, AND the context of what’s happening.

You can’t just see a tail moving and think, “Oh, he’s friendly! I can pet him.” ❌

There are absolutely dogs that will wag their tail and still do NOT want you coming into their space.

That’s why we always say: READ THE DOG. Read the WHOLE dog. The tail is only one piece of the conversation. 🐕👀

Why do I feel like Nevaeh KNOWS I’m asking her to split this vet bill? 😂💸 The second money came up, suddenly she can’t hear me, can’t see me, and wants absolutely NO part of this conversation. Ma’am… these charges have YOUR NAME written all over them. 😭🐕💳

WAIT… are trained dogs really THIS rare now?! 🤯🐕 An entire restaurant practically stopped eating just to come over and watch two trained dogs behaving in public. People were staring, pointing, and coming over to see them like it was something they’d never witnessed before. 😂 If seeing two well-behaved dogs in public is really this unusual, that’s a travesty. Our dogs are part of our lives—we should be able to take them places, enjoy the world with them, and trust them to behave. We’ve got to do better at training our dogs.
