🐾 PSA about Lil Max 🐾

Lil Max did not have his eye surgery today. At his check this morning, the clinic found mucus in his lungs, and it isn't safe to put him under anesthesia until that clears — so his surgery has been rescheduled to November 10.

He's home, comfortable, and starting Clavamox today, plus eye drops to keep his eyes protected until surgery day. He'll be resting, eating well, and getting all the snuggles while his lungs clear up.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, and checked in on this little fighter. Your support is what gets him the care he needs — we'll keep you posted as November 10 gets closer. Please keep him in your thoughts. ❤️

🐾 We need your old totes, coolers, and straw! 🐾

Winter is coming, and Mystique's Rescues — working with Rushville Animal Shelter — is building 50 warm shelters for community cats across Fayette and Rush Counties: outdoor cats with caretakers who feed them but no warm place to sleep.

Can you donate?
• Plastic totes with lids (30-gal and 18-gal)
• Styrofoam coolers with lids (the big ones)
• STRAW bales (not hay — straw keeps cats dry; hay holds moisture)

Every tote pair or cooler becomes one insulated shelter, raised off the cold ground and filled with loose straw. Fifty shelters = fifty safe, dry places to sleep.

We could also use hands! Building starts Monday, October 26 once supplies are in — a couple of hours of cutting, taping, and stuffing helps a lot. No experience needed.

🐾 Job Opening: Temporary Part-Time Marketing & Creative Support at The Heavenly Hound 🐾

​As many of you know, balancing a growing business and a new baby has been such a wonderful blessing. But as a small business, it has also meant we haven’t been able to keep up with our social media and marketing the way we used to. We especially miss doing our pet memorial posts, but right now, we’ve had to reallocate that time to keep the daily operations running smoothly!

​Right now, we are in a growth phase with some big changes coming soon, and we need a little extra support to help us communicate those updates to our community.

​Because we have a premium Canva subscription and some exciting things ahead, we are looking for some part-time, temporary help to help us grow and share our vision during this season of life.

​What the role involves:
✨ Designing promotional flyers, brochures, and graphics using our Canva subscription. (This can be done in our office or from home if you have a computer and printer)
✨ Writing and sharing pet memorials on Facebook and our website.
✨️ Scheduling appointments with local vet clinics to market our services, and dropping off business cards and flyers to local pet businesses.

🕒 Hours: Extremely part-time (just a few hours a month).
💛 Pay: Negotiable (please keep in mind we are a small business operating on a modest budget right now).
🐾 We would love for this person to be a previous client of ours so they already have a personal, heartfelt experience to relate to the families we serve.

It's been a CRAZY week at my bill paying day career so I haven't had a chance to post all week! We are still at $249.11 raised for Lil' Max's surgery and neuter.

Good news: found out that It's only going to be $125 an eye instead of $250!! That means that we have raised the funds for his surgery and now we just need to try to gather the $85 for his neuter and $25 for his rabies.

I could not do ANY of this without your help and I and all the rescues thank you for your support!
