Is there a new puppy in your family? Or perhaps you've recently discovered that those adorable little paws come with a whole lot of energy, curiosity and mischief? 😂

We've got something for you!

Our next Puppy Class at Respectful Pup begins Wednesday, October 28, and we'd love to welcome you and your four-legged family member.

Puppyhood is exciting, but it can also leave you wondering whether you're doing everything right.

The good news? You don't need a perfect puppy. You need patience, guidance and a positive place to learn together.

🐾 Does Your Dog Suddenly Forget Their Name When You Call Them?
You say, "Come!"
Your dog looks at you.
Then looks at that very interesting squirrel. 🐿️
And apparently, the squirrel wins. 😂
Sound familiar?
Here's something important to remember: Coming when called is a learned skill, and distractions can make it much harder!
Instead of repeating your dog's name or getting frustrated, focus on making coming back to you something wonderful.
💙 Start practicing in a quiet environment.
🐾 Reward your dog generously when they return.
🌲 Gradually introduce distractions.
💛 Never punish your dog for coming back, even if it took longer than you hoped.
🐶 Practice regularly and keep training fun!
A reliable recall takes patience, consistency and positive experiences.
And remember, your dog isn't trying to give you a hard time. They're learning how to make good choices in an exciting world.

Hey there, dog friends! 💙

Let's talk about something that often gets misunderstood when raising a puppy: socialization.

When you hear that word, do you picture puppy playdates, dog parks and meeting every dog in the neighborhood?

Here's something I want you to remember: Your puppy doesn't have to meet everyone to become a confident dog!

Sometimes the most valuable experiences are the simplest ones.
🐶 Watching children play at the park
🌲 Exploring a quiet neighborhood trail
🚗 Hearing cars drive past
🐾 Visiting a new place and simply observing
💛 Learning that unfamiliar sounds aren't necessarily scary

The goal isn't to expose your puppy to everything at once. It's to help them discover that the world can be a safe, interesting and enjoyable place.

Keep experiences short, positive and appropriate for your puppy's age. Watch their body language and give them room to explore at their own pace.
Those little moments of confidence add up!

Dog Parkour turns ordinary objects — benches, curbs, logs, low walls and other safe obstacles — into opportunities for your dog to think, move and build confidence. It combines physical exercise with mental stimulation while strengthening focus, coordination and the connection between you and your dog.
And no, we’re not teaching your dog to launch themselves off buildings. 😂 Parkour is about safe, controlled movement and positive experiences, with activities appropriate for each dog’s age, size and ability.
Our next 6-week Parkour class starts October 5 and is open to dogs 18 months and older. Class size is limited to 6 dogs, so don’t wait to grab your spot!

Parkour is about turning the everyday world into a place where your dog can learn, explore and build confidence — with you right beside them.

Our next Parkour class starts October 5!

During this 6-week class, dogs learn to safely climb, balance, crawl, jump and problem-solve through fun obstacle-based activities. Along the way, we’re working on much more than obstacles. Parkour can help build body awareness, focus, fitness, confidence and teamwork between you and your dog.

And because this is Respectful Pup, training is built around positive, reward-based methods that encourage dogs to participate, experiment and learn without fear of making mistakes.
